This is timely, I've just been reading about female regencies in France when their husbands/sons were on Crusade.

I'm flipping through the beautiful late Anglo-Saxon 11th cent work calendar MS cotton ms julius a vi (digitised British Library). Can someone please explain why the British Museum thought it was acceptable to stamp the MS every few pages, including literally over the text?? 😠 #medievalsky
