Oh yeah, I still overall enjoyed it. I'll likely get the bluray of it at the least. At the end of the day, it's still Michelle Yeoh and should have been at least a short series. My main gripe is it didn't have time to let most of it, most of the relationships, breathe.

But Starfleet Academy is better than bad, it's good. I get that it won't be for some people. But still!

Also, wait, you seem to love most Trek! How is this something folks are just finding out? (even for the Ups and Downs as we go)

I think the most polarized you were so far was Section 31?

Going over these pages, I hear Dan talking to me. So for me, these books, these amazing new editions, are a tie back to him. Helping me remember him and not just miss him. I think he would have enjoyed these editions.

He got me my first RPG. This is a brand new updated edition of that RPG from @palladiumbooks - including 6 of the original books into these two, that had been on Kickstarter. It came in today (Saturday).

Dan passed away two years ago to cancer. I miss him every day. I never had brothers or sisters so my cousins were the closest things, and Dan was the only one on mom's side of the family. He was an avid gamer in the tabletop realm, among other things.

#roleplaying #tmnt So, ages ago, my cousin Dan got me my first RPG. TMNT and Other Strangeness, from a Waldenbooks. It was phenomenal. Of course re-intruduced me to the Kevin Eastman and Pater Laird property in a way that I could make my own mutant animal characters and have adventures.

Hail the traveler. My great aunt passed at age 99. Her wake was tonight. She was an amazing woman who was more artistic than I ever realized while she was with us. Funeral is in the morning. Love you, Ruth.

Took Cornelius out to an event with the 802 Ghostbusters today (Sunday) and in trying to find the shop I got him from go tag them... I think they might be out of business! But how are people going to find Hellier/hopkinsville plush goblins?? (they were called The Sugar Moon, I believe from NC?)

RIP, Drew Struzan. I'm very glad I got to see the originals or a lot of his work at the Norman Rockwell museum some years ago. I think now the pieces were largely sold off from Drew before now.

I dearly miss actual artwork for movie posters and he had an amazing knack for them!

So... Sigh. One, he's announcing publicly an undercover operation.. Omg.

After three weekends of construction with friends helping, behold. A shed. Not 100% done yet but won't need to get friends over to help to get the windows and internal shelves on.

My word, this was a ton of effort! It's 11'x11'.

Every episode opens with the narration: "This series presents information based in part on theory and conjecture. The producer's purpose is to suggest some possible explanations, but not necessarily the only ones, to the mysteries we will examine."

Imagine if shows had that kind of thing now?

It's the little things that can get us by. I'll be going through this whole set a bit every day or so.

The world seems crazier by the day. Take time for yourselves. Support each other. Love each other. Protect each other. Celebrate strangeness. Stand up to restrictions us.

Warren house looks so accurate I kind of wonder if they really shot in the house. And of course Matt Rife and Elton Castee now own the Warren house.

So yeah the movie was solid, better than The Devil Made Me Do It by far. Vera looked the most like Lorraine in this one.

In my opinion, they made Tony and Judy far too involved, and far more than they actually were. But it made for a fun movie.

Also, actual Tony and Judy cameo at Ed's birthday party in the first 15 or 20 minutes. Inside the house before going outside.

Okay, well.. I've seen all the others. I completed it tonight.

Solid movie in and of itself.

Barely connected with the stories, negligebly connected to the reality behind the stories. I kept bringing myself out of the movie as I have so much Warren knowledge.

End credits tag. Kinda.

With all the crap going on of late, I FINALLY remembered to turn these photos into a gif/vid, from Granite State Comic Con last year. John Rhys Davies was a complete delight, and thank you to the staff member for taking all these photos!

So, who else feels almost paralyzed from doing or enjoying anything while this crappy federal budget stuff is happening? Just like bracing for impact?

Thanks to some good friends, I was able to take a mad dash to NYC via Amtrak on Sat for the festivities around Ghostbusters Day and Hook and Ladder 8. It was an amazing day, even with loads of rain. And this photo doesn't show it, but there were hundreds of Ghostbusters there. Fun day! Long day!

So, Thunderbolts* is really good. Darker than I thought it would be. One central theme throughout the whole movie, ultimately.

To quote my friend Jonny Ruckus (who quotes this from Rowdy Roddy Piper) - -

Sigh. And a lake must have been drained to have AI make this. Revolting. And of COURSE MAGA is celebrating this.

At least there are some happy endings for some characters, and I KNOW if this was made today, it'd be a fraction of the episodes and they wouldn't let tangents happen.

But I loved it all!

So, I finished Twin Peaks. Well, the original two seasons, Fire Walk With Me, and revival season. I have more to watch still (the "movie" of the deleted scenes, for instance plus all the special features). But WOW.

I've got a lot to ponder and now I will look up YouTube deep dives.

Trying to keep going and keep from despair, but every damn day there's more and more and more. I wish I wasn't as keyed into government crap, but they're kind of on media all the time now.

I'm okay. Honest. But I also feel like this scene from Terminator 2. Frig.

Puttering away on the Slime Blower, I shortened these wires so there isn't as much random lengths of wire clogging up the bottom pan where this all gets hidden.

Very glad I had job training in soldering and have my own setup at home now. Makes these kind of adjustments much easier.
