The message: literacy for every child - guided by evidence, led by teachers.

📊 Speakers highlighted the scale of Pakistan’s reading crisis: over 70% of children struggle to read and understand a simple text by age 10.

Discussions stressed moving from unstructured approaches to explicit, systematic, evidence-based reading instruction.

On Tuesday in Islamabad, 50 leaders from government, academia, research institutions, development partners, INGOs, and multilateral organizations met to discuss evidence-based reform & coordinated national efforts to strengthen early reading outcomes for children in Pakistan. 📚
