I send digital Amazon gift cards all the time. I suppose, theoretically, the electrons could go astray between your computer and their computer, but I haven’t had any issues so far. πŸ˜‰

Sigh, I get it. I really do. But please consider – you’ve got pals on here who, if we were within an hour or twoβ€˜s drive, would drop everything to bring you groceries/walk Edgar/make sure you’re not unconscious on the floor over there. Your irl community might surprise you, if you let them

Hold onto it until 2028, I’m sure it’ll be competitive somewhere around there!

No one, or no one you’d feel comfortable asking for anything, even though they’ve asked you in the past?

Too bad the TX primaries have already passed, you could’ve run it against Cornyn and Paxton for the senate nomination

πŸ˜• You’ve spent years going out of your way to help anyone who asks; is it possible that one or more of the beneficiaries of those efforts can check in/run errands/whatever in Boy’s absence?

One thing I think is bad is when a single corporation controlled by a single malicious billionaire is permitted to become a foundational aspect of society. This makes me a radical.

I keep seeing people ask about the 25th Amendment.

Guys. His entire Cabinet is walking around in shoes that don’t fit because they’re scared to take them off.

The 25th is never happening.

There Is No Trolley Problem We actually aren't constrained into atrocious premises by thought exercises. Obstacles are a reason to fight, not an excuse to quit. Our friends and neighbors aren't distractions..

"More than anything, though, fascists set up real-life trolley problems to get people to agree to their horrific premise that there must be people tied to the trolley tracks." More than ever, centrists agree with those premises and manage the bloody outcomes.

Something that’s always bugged me about people deploying the trolley problem is that it’s based on 1) there only being 2 choices and 2) the actor having basically perfect knowledge of outcomes. Neither is remotely the case in the real world. It’s just justifying cruelty most of the time.

Silenced in Plain Sight – The Washington Spectrum: Algorithmic Suppression Ms. AWashington | ARW-RAW

β€œSilenced in Plain Sight β€” The Washington Spectrum.”

It comes directly from what I’ve been witnessing here: voices growing, engagement collapsing, communities disappearing from our own feeds.

This paper names the pattern β€” and the infrastructure behind it.

Folk faith sorceries often deploy like to thwart like. A system of sympathetic magic to defeat hostilities believed to be walking abroad. The placement of Wicker Queens on agricultural land as field wards is an example of imitative practice and many a farmer will tell you it works. – Dr. M. Benn
