We have run a fragment screen by X-ray crystallography and tried different options for hit optimization with manual design working best.

Learning the local language is generally not a bad thing, but it can't be the job of incoming PhD students and postdocs to strenghten Norwegian as a professional language. And in any case, such measures needs to come with appropriate funding.
