Very weird for you to reply to me with this when I said nothing about Cousins and was only addressing the Browns lack of activity at quarterback.
Were you too scared to say this directly to Mina?
I agree. And I was in favor of them taking their medicine and cutting Watson this off-season just to get him off the team.
I don't think Berry has learned any lesson.
I think the answer is, they have the ability to make space if they want but they are still probably two years from competing for a playoff spot so why push it?
Somehow this GM has talked the owner into another multi year rebuild.
My working assumption is that the Browns aren't trying to win football games in 2026.
I expect they will trade down from 6 and possibly 24 and try and enter the 2027 off-season with three first round picks.
Are we gonna talk about this on the pod? Yes we are.
The South ending Reconstruction and plunging their populations into a backward looking culture and economy until it was forced to modernize by the Civil Rights movement is imo a very clean parallel.
You can't focus on your emotions if your stomach is in significant distress.

If Sun-, Mon-, or Tues- the -day do be,
The game is on Peacock or perhaps N- and/or ABC;
If Wednesday has come round again,
'Tis wise to check ESPN;
Yet if it be long weekend time,
Search Disney's sports verticals, but first try searching Prime
We give our quick reaction to the Browns trade for Tytus Howard here:
youtube.com/shorts/80hSV...
Yeah I think it's very likely the extension was the only way he'd agree to the trade.
See Seth's breakdown here for why the Howard trade is disappointing.
If the Browns had acquired him without extending him, I think I would defend it.
The extension makes it possible, if not likely, that Howard's deal is a millstone as soon as next off-season.
A lot of analysis by Browns media is "they needed a tackle, they got a tackle, good move" Maybe they'll look up a PFF grade at most.
People don't want to engage with the idea of opportunity cost or understand contracts.
AB has skated because he brings in players and no one worries about the cost.
This is his age 30 season coming up. The report was that it was a three year extension, so my assumption is three additional years, meaning the last year of that contract he'll be 34.
Gotta lock down that age 33 season!
Rapoport is reporting at the other place that the Browns gave Howard a three year extension as part of this.
Andrew Berry can't stop giving old offensive linemen guaranteed money.
This is a problem because it causes these players to overstay their welcome, ie Jack Conklin and Wyatt Teller.

The video game industry decided to discontinue their product, the video game, in exchange for trying to make Fortnites. They have in recent years found out this doesn't work, so they have pivoted from making Fortnites to making ????????????????? nothing I guess

In danger of being a broken record a bit but really, truly, take comfort and strength in knowing this *is* most of us. Itβs true it should be all of us and it sucks itβs not. But most everyone hates this stuff.
Really something that the two worst Americans also seem to be immortal.
Weirdly those teams are the Browns teams I remember mostly fondly
This is some elite remembering!
I can't fault you in the least
