That tradition continued through the bards and storytellers who carried the tales of the Mabinogion, holding communities together through shared listening. So today weβre not only celebrating our patron saint, but the roots of Welsh storytelling itself.
π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ Happy St. David's Day. Before Wales had theatres, it had audiences. In the 6th century, St. David gathered crowds in fields and on hillsides to hear him speak. Churches were too small, so stories were told outdoors, shaped by rhythm, voice and gesture so everyone could follow.
As the Our Town company makes its way south to the @Rosetheatre, hereβs a little throwback to when the cast first got their costumes for the very first time ahead of opening at @SwanseaGrand. Such a lovely buzz!
