Thanks for that link.
Clive James spoke to him on Oxford Street in 'Postcard From London'. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1E5-...
(About 31m in if the time stamp doesn't work.)
So they left deedless β but met him later?

Jerry Sadowitz was a big fan.

It's so good though. Captain Scarlet's face giving off Tom Cruise vibes. Too late for a film?
Also Scarlet's voice was Francis Matthews, an excuse to post him in one of my favourite Morecambe & Wise visual gags!

I don't do topical humour.
Haven't written my book yet, but the blurb endorsements are done.

Better that Phillips wasn't hired as a presenter in the first place? Probably. Maybe Ed Balls too as he and Mandelson have been allies, though not close. (I don't really know, and obviously defer to you in media matters.)
I kind of agree, but I think it's marginally possible he's been told he shouldn't.
And this isn't helping:
You could be right but the eyes seem too different to me.
(And to think people say I'm on BlueSky just to avoid doing any work.)
Very odd. Assuming it's the Yorkshire comedian who later appeared with Tracey Ullman and Lenny Henry in Three of a Kind, that doesn't appear to be him in the first photo. Maybe an overseas record company cock-up? (Pretty sure that's him though in the second pic.)
He did a long monologue on his Sky show about his friendship with Mandelson and wrote a Times column around the same time. I think he called him greedy and deceitful but (pulling a punch) possibly naive.
I see your point but would a director or editor want him to mention it every time?
Happy Larch Vehement!
Just remembered the 'Kenya Dig It' β the kiss where you've got the Theme From Shaft playing in your head and become ridiculously over-confident.
I cannot recommend the Turkey Gobble. π

To be fair, Wardle said upfront that similar word games were around when he did a Wordle prototype about 10 years ago (not sure if he knew about the original Lingo in the 1980s), and that it was influenced by the game Mastermind, and also Hangman(?). And he didn't put the game online to make money.

I miss out on so many replies hidden in long threads on Bluesky. Probably something I can change in the settings to avoid that.

I once thought the Tel was first, but then changed my mind when I later (mis)read Bert Danher's obituary in The Independent. See replies to above.
