However like any analogue technology (and especially crts) the effect can vary from screen to screen given manufacturing settings etc, once the second generation of 3D consoles came out, even though crts were still prominent 3D graphics didn’t really benefit from the effect.
All I see is the same 5 or 6 examples that are always from the later part of video games early history, never anything 8 bit, so sure, for very experienced devs making console exclusives, some games they made were tailored to the idea of the effect the crt screen had
The IDEA crts are better for the old art is just funny when most of the (repeat) examples are sprites with a lot of colors getting blended together, I guess the tech of the crt can create blending effects but most pixel art from old games doesn’t have that kind of art to allow for it
I mean I’m fine with 4:3 but I just hate crts. Some pixel art looks good on them, but they’re a flawed display that doesn’t actually display the image as it was made. Hence why some old games look way better on modern screens than others.

Day 2: today I drew Dedenne and Bonnie. It’s a little rough, and I should probably have sharpened my pencil but it was fun. First image is the drawing the second and third are references just like yesterday.
I am open to suggestions for what pokemon and trainer to do next. The two don’t necessarily need to be affiliated, but I will try to composite them into a rudimentary scene regardless
