🚨 BREAKING: 103,000 people died in poverty in the UK last year - that’s 281 people dying in poverty every day.

This is so wrong. Everyone should get the financial support they need to spend their final months, weeks and days in comfort.

💛Funerals are important but expensive. Thousands are being denied a Funeral Expenses Payment each year, at a time when funeral costs have skyrocketed. That's why Marie Curie is proud to support the 'Grief is hard enough: Fix the FEP' campaign. (2/3)

The UK Commission on Bereavement found that 43% of people experience financial difficulties as a result of bereavement, and also heard how the complex application system for the Funeral Expenses Payment leaves many people who are funeral planning with financial worries too. (1/3)

Council tax relief for terminally ill residents Manchester City Council offers compassionate tax support to terminally ill people, providing financial relief during challenging times.

No one should have to worry about if they can afford to pay the bills when they are living with a terminal illness.

The introduction of this scheme will mean that any household in Barnsley where someone is living with a terminal illness will have their council tax bill waived.

This will support so many people facing financial pressures during an already difficult period.
