Agree! The swing to more crop and bigger farms and machines continues apace. Particularly poor for communities. No easy answers, but surely not sustainable forever?!
Stress levels in farming clients in April through June would tell me not. Even when we can financially manage the volatility on farm, I reckon it's harder mentally. Resilience has its limits! Implications for supply chain too - harder for contractors to carry a poor one & capitalise on a big one.
I often wonder where the limit is? Our ability to grow grain these last two seasons is incredible. WUE off the chart for some!

Guess we'd better stay in sheep then! Most in our district are out, or will be soon. They are a good fit in our system - just getting harder to justify. Harder work than growing grain too!
Will be interesting to see where they sit in 2 years time when mutton and lamb are in short supply
