As far as I can tell, New Jersey has become a sort of Hamsterdam in which federal crimes are decriminalized since trump took office, because he keeps illegally appointing people to run the USAO there [not legal advice].
Having now seen the first X-Files movie, I like that they gave Terry O’Quinn the Garret-Dillahunt-in-Deadwood treatment (casting an actor to play two different and unrelated characters without explanation), though I suppose I need to rename the phenomenon now.
I must once again point out that one group of stupid people thought that the guy who uses “Palestinian” as an epithet to refer to a Jewish person he deems insufficiently loyal to Israel would help Palestinians, while a different group of stupid people don’t think the same guy is an anti-Semite.

Even in 2024 people said “oh well he doesn’t like war because it looks bad on tv.” Good lord.
I cannot emphasize enough how stupid it was that people actually said trump was anti-war or anti-imperialist because he criticized the Iraq War on a Republican debate stage in 2015.
Oh look, here he was on his second day as president in 2017 saying that the problem with the Iraq war was that the United States didn’t take its oil.
The only way to know that trump was in fact a pro-war imperialist was to listen to anything he ever said and to know even the slightest about his disgusting, pathetic life.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms really captured what makes the dunk and egg novellas so enjoyable, and the changes were mostly for the better (with one exception being the flashback in the battle episode, which was my least favorite of the season).
Final thoughts: season 4 of Industry had some very good episodes and moments, but I found the main corporate thriller plot a little flat. It would be wrong to say it was the worst season, but it was lacking something overall.

I’m sorry for posting something from Ross Douthat, but it’s incredibly funny how casually he admits that trump was never anti-war. I’m sure this was a frequent topic of his columns throughout the past decade.
