Remind me again... which nation was busy building the ferries that Nicola Willis cancelled?๐ค๐คฌ
We won't be getting any favours when we have to beg for fuel, and none of it will be discounted.
Thanks Nicola.๐ฉ๐ฉ

โAnother poll also revealed Kiwis overwhelmingly wanted politicians to govern with future generations in mind and the economic system to be changed.โ
Not-for-profit is insufficient: organisations which support our health and social care system should be not-for-dividend. The distinction is important because the latter enables all surplus to remain in the sector rather than being moved into shareholder coffers.

We live in a world beyond parody. The United States has had four minesweeper vessels in the Persian Gulf for 35 years. Just yesterday these ships arrived in Philadelphia to be decommissioned, a day before Iran announces that they are mining the Strait of Hormuz.
Are we any closer to "getting back on track"?
Not if rail ferries are anything to go by.
Oddly enough, that one did make it into English! Merriam Webster defines "pusillanimous" as "lacking courage and resolution; marked by contemptible timidity". So, not exactly the same meaning, but definitely the same vibe, and from the same Latin root.
A reminder that the outgoing Solicitor-General, Una Jagose, was revealed by the Royal Commission on Abuse in Care to have acted to shut down and deny claims by abused people.
But National, and Collins, allowed her to stay in office, and deal with response to the RC.

The two new ferries will be smaller and cost more than the original ferries and be delivered three years later. The port upgrades still need to be signed off and ratepayers both sides are stumping up for the govt fucking around? And that's for less than the iRex plan. Years later. Costing more.

The "Is This A Pigeon" meme where, original, a character gestures toward a butterfly and asks "is this a pigeon?" Here the butterfly has been replaced with a new headline screenshot reading "Heinz Wattie's plans to shut three factories, 350 jobs at risk" and the caption text reads: Is this "getting New Zealand back on track"?

Next Govt should have a Royal Commission into the cancellation of the ferries, just to be fair and all
Well those green shoots certainly won't be snap frozen and sold in supermarkets around the country, that's for sure.
