It kills me that iOS has the Oxford English Dictionary built into it, but there’s no app to quickly look words up. Instead it has the clunkiest interface imagineable. You need to type a word out anywhere, highlight it, then scroll to “look-up”. What are we doing here.

I had the same realization on moving to Toronto after living here my whole life. The biggest difference to me was the elevation. In Vancouver you regularly get expansive views where you can see other parts of the city, or mountains 100’s of km away. If it’s flat you just see the block you’re on.

If I touch my new earbuds in the wrong way while I’m on a call, it starts the music program on my computer and begins playing the first playlist, blasting Nine Inch Nails over the call. I don’t *think* people on the call can hear it.

Honestly, it was a major disappointment for me when I learned Scott Adams was such a crank. It took me a while to internalize it.
He’s reanimated by some demons, Alice kills him again by stabbing him with a pen, and then it just ends and it’s off to the next plot.
Dilbert would pull a Garfield-wakes-up-in-the-distant-future style non sequitur more often than any other strip.
That said, at its best the strip was very funny. Its capacity for absurd, off-the-wall humour was unmatched. For example, in one series, a coworker grows a beard from his forehead, which gets him promoted to manager. This gets Alice homicidally angry and she rolls his office chair down the stairs…
I like this take. I also really enjoyed Dilbert as a kid and teenager, and this was definitely part of it. Also, Dilbert seemed to give a window into the adult world with the insider knowledge that it was all arbitrary and pointless. An attractive message for a young person eager to seem wise.

I’m not quite as high, my max is 205, but resting is ~60. I was trying to figure out why this is, and there isn’t a ton of info on what causes high max and normal resting. My current theory is it’s related to the volume of your heart. Smaller means more bpm to pump the same volume. But really, 🤷♂️
Then again, you could say that all vectors point, so maybe it’s more of a problem than a benefit 🤷♂️

I’ve got two mostly unused wrist + thumb splints from when I got hit by a car this summer, and it’s kind of surprising how there’s no charity or government program to give old braces to in Toronto. They’re🫰and if they weren’t covered by insurance I’d have been looking for a cheaper way to get them.
Early stage Duolingo loves to drill you about how the French word for “chocolate” is “chocolat” for five minutes, then tell you that one of your weak words is “oui” somehow.
