Well, this was a bit surprising. First, I have been going to Yolo Bypass near Davis, CA very very often and always dream of getting a good raptor pic with the "Hunter Check Station" sign. And I got one today of a kestrel sitting on that sign. Yes, this is a hunter check station.

thrilled to share “Calling From the Payphone at the Teleporter Depot”!! features bad breakups, fresh starts, folk physics, and the kindness of strangers. also, some early scifi teleporter horror.

One of my favourite things about doing breeding bird surveys is catching the sunrise in June. This was taken just after 4 o’clock this morning and was worth the 3 AM wake up. 🌿
