Anti-abortion politicians will stop at nothing to deny people essential health care, including threatening to lock up doctors and those who help people get abortions.
No one should face prosecution for helping someone end their pregnancy.
I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.
Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO
In my years of reporting on LGBTQ news this was by far the hardest.
But we are still here. You made it to Friday. You lived. Good job. That wasn’t easy.

very scary times, but there is still a future with fighting for. yes, it's wrong that we all have to fight for this shit in 2025, but pouting and saying "i dont wanna" is going to hurt everyone (and you!), fight the urge to consider your actions meaningless and help + take care of yourself. ❤️
and DO NOT listen to people telling you the world is ending. its not to say climate change isn't real it very much is, but please dont give in to miserable older folks telling you that you dont have a future ahead of you, and that everything is out of your control, because that simply is not true.

What we're currently living through is a patriarchal panic reaction.
Our society came a little too close to acknowledging trans people as not merely quirky zoo exhibits to gawk at on the margins of society. Too close to acknowledging our humanity.
The response to this has been sheer terror.
the worst thing calling your reps will do is, nothing. the best thing it will do is make a difference, the only thing you will lose is maybe idk 10 minutes of your life. what you will gain is practice for when you have to call again or teach someone (like younger ppl) how to do it in the future.

Trump is openly violating the law on a vast and unprecedented scale and everyone is acting like it's normal. NPR had a long story about finding a rare shrew. NYT said he was disregarding "legal niceties." This is an attack on the Constitution as profound as the attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
