Like its real fun. The base of my world is historically accurate, but I make my own events and decisions. And its so interesting how South America, Afrika and Asia acted in the Cold War. Like what is a Third World Country? Literally the ones that took no side! Switzerland is a Third World Coutnry!
Like Im reading on different topics rn and its real interesting. Like the Algeria War and Massacre of Paris. All the stuff happening in Africa over all. Indian independance. And all the stuff in the middle east. Like there is SO much. The cold war era was qutie something. WW2 looks simple next to it
I would say Im quite the history nerd. At least for the eras Im really interested in. But since my latest novel project plays in the 1960s... I realised how little I know about the cold war. Really just the classics. US vs USSR dick measureing competition, Vietnam and Cuba...
Really need to get back to writing again. Been way over a month at this point, thanks to a lot of things happening...

Just had another idea for yet another novel. This one would be at least rather short and a one-off. But still... I make up way to many projects. This one would be cool tho, since its peak movie material and might be a very fun read if done right...

Same with a new tool I found for myself: Sluglines. Its incredibly handy to skip travelscenes and just throw the POV to a new place. Like... My writing is rather cinematic anyways. It just fits. I like how I write that stuff...
Like my style? Sure its heavily inspired by Ian Fleming still. Just with my personal Noir note. But I just realised that I want to use some special tool and themes in certain ways. Like I dont want to leave the protagonist really. But I think max 3 times of having an antagonist POV might be nice!
Done with a writing session. A good one. Finally introduced the antagonist and I think I did it in a great way! Like he feels very professional and stuff!
And on top of that? I made a bit of a realisation. I really found my own style. Like I made myself some rules to what I should write and what not
So I kinda wanted to write something that captures his cold style, the 60s vibes of the Sean Connery movies and have it a bite more politically correct for our time. And on top of that I wanted to experiment with the style and sprinkle some Noir vibes into it. And I think I did that well so far!
So my Spy-Fi project... I started this project, because the 007 novels inspired me. In a weird way. On one hand I liked the way Ian Fleming wrote them. Very cold and report-eske. But on the other hand? They aged badly. I already lost track how often I heard the nword in the audio book... Yeah...

Reading over my spy-fi project, I kinda worry about a certain part. Out of context and isolated it really sounds like Im defending fascism to a certain point. Like if you actually read it all and have the context you probably understand my point. But people are generally stupid and thus I worry...

In case of the latter... I thought it would fit the oldschool way of the novel playing in 1961. At that time this wasnt even really a trope yet. And dramaturgically it works perfectly here. But did I have to research if it was plausible in this setting? Not really... Yet I did...
Like why would I research for hours how a medieval inn works and what food it would offer? I could write anything and most readers would either believe it or understand its fine for the dramaturgy. Why do I research on locks, just to break it open with a creditcard?
I think the hardest thing for me while writing is the whole concept of plausibility. I always try to hard to write in a way that sounds realistic. Even when I write fiction. I research way to much on details nobody would care about...
Considering how all my test readers ghost me, lost interest in my work or got straight up toxic? Its nice that someone cares again. Even tho he has to read the version that will lose quite some word plays and puns now...
Well a friend of mine said he wants to read my book so much, when its done and I meant I dont plan to translate it directly after release or myself at all...
So... I google translated him everything I got so far and sent him that. He is actually interested and wants to read... Its makes me happy
Just wrote one of the longest chapters of my Spy-Fi project and damn I think its one of the, if not THE best so far! Finally had the chance to write a dialogue with a friend not an enemy or coworker. This chapter feels so alive and friendly. I just love it! Im so proud of myself here!
Just realised my fav Lofi album (its all Deltarune Covers) got removed from Spotify... My writing will suffer immensely from this. This is almost as worse as when I stopped smoking Nicotine!
