It’s kinda like a car collision… even if it’s out of the corner of my eye, I can’t not look.

Daniel Silva’s Gabriel Allon series on Audible. They’re narrated by George Guidall. Brilliant.
- hearing some say “dappled”
- the smell of fresh ground coffee
- my kid’s morning hugs
- unexpected chocolate
I get a little anxious about vanishing cookies. But we all have our challenges.
“Empathy is at the heart of what it means to be human. It’s a foundation for acting ethically, for good relationships of many kinds, for loving well, and for professional success. And it’s key to preventing bullying and many other forms of cruelty.” mcc.gse.harvard.edu/resources-fo...
This morning I drove to work not thinking about how teachers will address student concerns about the violence in Israel and Gaza. But rather I was thinking about what kind of support teachers were receiving to help them prepare for addressing their students concerns. #EduSky
Thanks for the good work here.

Great pic.
They are not on Blue yet. Maryland Consortium for Adjunct Faculty Professional Development - Annual MCAPD Adjunct Conference

Is the source condemning or celebrating violence? Advocating for victims, or justifying atrocities with proof of the other side’s cruelty? Violence is the most powerful propaganda and researchers are not immune to its effects. Once seen those images will never leave you. Choose your costs carefully.
So much “OSINT” content during breaking stories is little more than torture porn. It doesn’t inform or memorialize. You don’t need to watch a murder to know that murder is wrong, and you don’t have to witness every atrocity in order to grieve. Consider the dignity of the victims and survivors.
Reminder: you are not obligated to watch, hear, or read every piece of content related to breaking news, especially when that content is graphic. Ask yourself: is this data point worth the additional trauma? Is this necessary for archival, analysis, or advocacy?
Junk science at its absolute worst.
The struggle reconciling my feelings about what has happened with what is inevitably coming.
Well played.
Great discussion. I hear you about reconnecting outside of the “socials”

Great discussion about the post Twitter social world for academia today on the Future Trends Forum. @karencosta.bsky.social @thomasjtobin.bsky.social and Lee Skallerup Bassette were brilliant.
