5Qs: Schlanger Discusses Disability Discrimination and Preserving the Right to Sue the Government | University of Michigan Law School People with disabilities should be able to sue the government for relief when federal agencies discriminate against them, Professor Margo Schlanger argues in a recent article.

Argument: Injunctive lawsuits enforcing the statute barring disability discrimination by the federal government are valid because there is a cause of action and a waiver of sovereign immunity. Lots of details in the piece, but the bottom line bolsters a key check on government overreach.

I ran CRCL for 2 years in the Obama administration. It plays statutorily required roles, addressing public & employee civil rights complaints. Another demonstration that the Administration stands against core civil rights, not just what it thinks is too-expansive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

I see some suggestions, in the reporting regarding the OMB impoundment order, that a mere delay in spending appropriated funds is legal. But that's not really true. The delay OMB has ordered specifically contradicts the Impoundment Control Act. A thread.
