I hope some studio exec sees this post and decides to create the perfect Lab-Grown marketable-- actually I'm going to stop myself there. that idea is terrifying.

pair this with a big, toothy smile and unfathomable power or otherwise unassuming looks and you have the perfect recipe for a Thing That Will Be Popular With Kids.

I also raise sans as an example where it is not necessary for both eyes to be fucked up, but you can have just one or the other. though sans has sort of grandfathered himself into the archetypal mascot of "singular eye is weird and glowing" so idk

I think it needs to be studied how much a character with fucked up and evil eyes can appeal to the teenage demographic (eg sonic.exe, spamton/IMAGE_FRIEND types, skibidi toilet, fnaf)

importantly they have to still have eyes, they just need to be fucked up in some way.
