Bookshop.org enters the e-book arena, giving indie stores a new way to compete with Amazon "Everything Amazon can do, we want to do as well or better," says CEO Andy Hunter on boosting indie sales digitally.

This is VERY good news. Love bookshop.org and all the stuff they do!

My son is reading a Don Quixote adaptation for school and I’m reading the original version for From the Front Porch Podcast’s #conqueraclassic this year. We’re both loving it, especially the characters.

Even in the darkest of times, Anne Frank found hope by looking at the sky.

What do you feel when you look at the sky above you?

I love Elizabeth Strout, but I can see why she’s not for everyone. Our book club read Olive Kitteridge this month and I’m interested to see how the discussion goes next week!

Good things come to those who have a satisfyingly smooth pen that is fun to write with.

Thank you for sharing. I’m glad you’re here.

Last year, we had a Downy woodpecker make a home near us and saw him frequent a tree near the front of our house. My kids named him Chicken Nugget. I’d never been very interested in birdwatching, but that hooked me and now I’m paying more attention.

I'm hoping to get my hands on some nonsense-cancelling headphones by noon tomorrow.

It’s not my personal favorite for no particular reason, but we do really enjoy it. The art is beautiful and it has a different vibe than a lot of our other games. Wingspan and Parks are probably our collective family favorites. Wingspan is 100% worth the cost if you don’t have that one.

Wishing everyone everywhere peace and inspiration. Come what may, let us stand strong for all that is right and just. Let us defend those who are being mistreated, and live with kindness and respect as Martin Luther King hoped we would . Our task is clear. ❀️

One thing before tomorrow:

Use your local libraries.

Get your card.

Borrow books, manga, films, audios, ebooks.

Recommend titles for purchase (usually online).

Attend promoted activities.

Fill out those "How are we doing?" questionnaires.

Tell your kids that libraries are good.

They are.
