As we mark the fourth year since the fall of Roe v. Wade, read Planned Parenthood of Maryland CEO Karen J. Nelson's statement on the increased attacks on abortion access and PPM's commitment to our patients.

Friendly reminder to use inclusive language when talking about abortion, because people of all genders need and have abortions.

💡 Myth busted: STIs can show up at any time. If you're sexually active, regular testing is the only way to stay in the know — not just a one-time thing.

4/ And Justice Sonia Sotomayor: the 1st Latina, 1st woman of color, and the 3rd woman to serve as Justice on the United States Supreme Court. 👩⚖️⚖️
3/ To Sylvia Riveria: an LGBTQ+ rights icon, who as a trans Latina pushed for the inclusion of trans folks in the broader gay liberation movement. Her work helped pioneer the modern LGBTQ+ movement we know today, which centers on intersectionality & the rights to bodily autonomy. 🙌 🏳️🌈
2/ From Dr. Helen Rodríguez Trías: an OG of the Women’s Health Movement who helped bridge economic & racial gaps in U.S. abortion access. She was also instrumental in establishing federal guidelines to stop forced sterilization that targeted Latina, Black, Indigenous, & poor communities. 👩⚕️🩺
1/ For the end of Hispanic/Latinx Month, we’re paying homage to 3 Latina heroes who changed America for the better! Though advances in equality in health care, LGBTQ+ rights, and law.

Trying to cut funds to ANY teen pregnancy prevention program b/c of "ideological content" the current admin doesn't like is shameful, hurting teens more than learning about DEI ever could.
W/ this verdict, Planned Parenthoods can keep educating teens about making healthy decisions for their future.
Today, the US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Chiles v. Salazar, the case challenging Colorado’s current law protecting minors from being subjected to conversion therapy.
The Court must protect #LGBTQ+ youth and their families from harm.

Targeting abortion providers isn't about stopping individual doctors, it's about stopping all providers of abortions w/ threats that they could be next.
While this threat is real, MD's lucky to have shielding laws 🛡️: laws that shield patients & providers from out-of-state warrants for legal care.
Learning about pregnancy in sex education should be age-appropriate, medically accurate, and include different experiences like IVF and surrogacy.
Here’s what that can look like for elementary, middle, and high school.
It's the anniversary of the Hyde Amendment & w/ nearly 50 years of denying abortion coverage to patients (disproportionally low-income patients, women of color, immigrant women) we're hopeful to one day see it gone. So ALL patients can get the care they need w/o financial barriers. #HealthCareForAll
