Make. It. Stop!!!
Wear a respirator. This is all preventable. Breathe clean uncontaminated air. Wear a mask. You won’t drink contaminated water, why breathe dirty air?
There’s lots of equipment to help you.

More and more young patients who were fit and well with long covid symptoms. They tell me
that something changed since the last Covid infection.
I have very rarely referred patients to immunology in the past. Now I refer at least once a month.
Covid kills and maims.

I am freaking tired and getting “charred” from seeing all these sick patients. I’m talking about fit and well young ones. Who now have immune dysfunction. Unwell. Even rhinovirus floors them and sent some to hospital and some was housebound for a week.
I’ve never seen this pre covid.

Just in case there’s a minute chance you are wondering why I’m missing for a while and if I have joined the masses and stopped masking and that I think Covid is a nothing burger.
WRONG!

For the record, I absolutely hate masking. I hate the fact I have to wear a mask to protect myself from those who unmask and from getting sick and getting long covid.
I infinitely hate getting long covid more. So I will continue to wear my respirator and breathe clean air. I drink clean water!

He has been well and finally weaned off midodrine. He can walk 15000 steps. He is travelling. Still working. He feels so well. He doesn’t understand why people won’t mask. Neither do I.

I told him to avoid getting sick and getting next Covid. He listened. He wears a P2 mask. He uses AirSpot air monitoring @airspotrob.bsky.social all the time. He uses far uvc.
He monitors the air he breathes and shares with others. He has a few Hepa machine and my favourite Ionmax aire x.

Started midodrine. Slowly improved and took him about 8 months. Prominent public figure. Meets lots of people and attend regular meetings. Was off sick initially. Catches viruses from people regularly.

My long Covid patient. 3 covid infections and 3 vaccinations- unable to have further mRNA due to myocarditis. Developed long covid after 3rd infection. POTS and PEM crashes. Limited to 2500 steps daily. Previously fit and well and gyms regularly. No meds prior to long covid.

Not in US, so I have Pluslife. That’s so sad, I’m sorry. Not sure what your options are. Maybe just lab PCR and a good RAT brand?

Bad flu? Bad RSV? Bad norovirus? Not me. My N95 works very well. And I get it fit tested. It is worth it.
Annual quantitative fit testing.
Your health matters. And health is truly wealth. My long Covid patients suffer and it is sad that I’m seeing more unwell kids.
Do the right thing. 😷

I have HEPA, I mask when I’m out of my house. I monitor CO2. I use UV. I am up to date with vaccinations. I follow and understand science.
Respirators work. That’s first line to avoid catching and AIRBORNE virus.
I was last ill in 2019. And I’m immunocompromised. Not caught anything since 2019.

I have not caught Covid yet and I actively test with plus life and then when indicated- lab PCR. My colleagues who are sick rely on RAT and don’t even do it properly. Refuse to do PCR.
When doing RAT, please swab your throat- under tongue, gum lines, inner cheeks and back of throat.

I offer them a mask, they decline. Some rudely decline. They said they are well. I will say how people with no symptoms can have Covid. And I don’t know what pathogens my room harbour because most don’t mask.
I’m protected because I wear my N95.
You do you. I’m tired of ignorant people.

My patients don’t mask anymore when they come in.
My room has a big Ionmax Aire X on number 3 setting with UV on.
Two windows opened. CO2 around 500+.

Continued…
4. RAT stays positive for weeks.
5. If asymptomatic, people can go to work, no need to test RAT to ensure it is negative and maybe wear surgical mask intermittently.
No wonder we are where we are now. Thanks to those who are living life “normally”.
Wear a respirator!

What I heard drs say:
1. Low positive Covid-19 PCR: no need to isolate as unsure of significance.
2. URTI and unwell patients are not requested to do a PCR for Covid or respiratory viral panel.
3. Right sided facial and limb weakness in a young long covid patient- nah, it is nothing.

We can stop the spread by wearing a respirator.
I’m seeing more and more sick young patients.

I cover RACF and most of the residents on the “Covid-19 highway” corridor were positive. I had to go into these rooms to examine the residents. All with windows shut!
I didn’t catch Covid. Checked with Pluslife and lab PCR. No symptoms. I wear my N95 at all times. Fit tested.

First and foremost. Treat Covid-19 virus as a virus. It is a pathogen. It is bad for our health. There’s no benefit in catching a virus. Especially this virus. It causes multi organ damage.
It is an AIRBORNE virus. To avoid catching it, wear N95 respirator.

It's a paper from last year, but it still pains me to think that we could have achieved elimination without resorting to lockdown, simply by implementing universal respirator usage alone. Not masks, respirators. It's still not too late.

A virus that infects the brain. The outcome will not be a good one. Look at the available research. Let alone a young developing brain. The kids are getting sick enough that parents are bringing them in with long covid symptoms. It is just sad that we have failed our future generations.

I was chatting with an endometriosis expert, in Sydney for a conference, who said: “It's very strange; in the last couple of years, we've started seeing malignant transformation of endometriosis in young women.” I replied, “SARS-CoV-2 is possibly an oncovirus”.
