If you're planning to study, study with intent, I like to take a scientific approach: control: draw the thing, observation: "mine doesn't look, doesn't feel, isn't", understand: "this artist does that well, how?", experimentation: try and apply understanding to new work. It's okay to fail just loop.

If you are developing your drawing skills, I recommend looking at all the different references you can - Photos, animation, anatomical studies, etc - Rather than copying one or two artists. I think this way you will set yourself up better to have a really unique style that's all your own!
