I think on one hand, for young people the basics seem archaic in this modern era. On the other hand, this modern era was absolutely built on those basics.

I think having 4 or 5 people in a band is rarely conducive to making good music. 2 or 3 person bands are a much better way to go. Maybe there should be some kind of cultural agency that helps split bands up into more effective constellations.
