That had to be a treat. He had that musical genius about himself.
Jazz is just such a beautiful language. I tried but never succeeded but that journey left me with a true love for the genius of those who could master the craft.
What a keyboard player Joey turned out to be. He passed way too early as it seems so many Jazz musicians do. I had just picked up his album with Steve Gadd live at the Voce a couple days before the news hit.
Miles sure introduced us to so many players along the way.
He is a freaking unbelievable player.
I had some connections to Berklee in Boston inthe 70’s. He was one of the players I was able to entice to do a workshop while I was teaching. Some of the best years for Jazz in my area. So much now only online. Live clubs be gone.

Jason in some ways reminded me of a young Jack DeJonette. The ability to get the percussion to sound melodic and electric at the same time is truly a skill. He did a workshop for students back in the day. Needless to say it was very special.
Listened to some of the Eclectic Trio last night. That is some really great music.
Brought back memories of hearing Dewey Redman, Dave Liebman live back in the 70’s.

Big Mac Daddy was a huge pickup for the Bolts. I look at this as a swap for Sergachev O D versus McDonough bringing back the D.
Great set of moves this summer. I hope Geekie works out in a year or two but Moser to me was the steal. He is the unsung hero going forward IMO.
This play reminds me of the cup run years. The team as a whole has bought into the D first mentality. That and Vasy being back to the high expectations level is what makes them an interesting wager for another cup.
For me Moser is the D deadline pickup now we need JBB to find a forward or 2
