You've seen this.

You're like "don't you see that the ABA industry, regardless of target, is all about eroding children's rights?"

And they'll be like "you keep insulting me and accusing me of being a horrible person"

Which is *not* a normal person's reaction.

The chud *will*. They'll retreat, they'll act perplexed and irritated every time the conversation turns to a more abstract thing, they'll shut down and stop thinking about it, go non-verbal about it.

A normal person would not view the conversation switching to the subject of children's rights and bodily autonomy, as a weird and inexplicable and frustrating tangent. It would be pretty obvious to them that this is actually what they'd been talking about the whole time.

A normal person would, instead of shutting down, get curious: wait literally the same guys torturing autistic kids, started doing literally the same thing to trans kids? etc

They won't retreat into annoyed "well I don't know why you're bringing *that* up" bullshit.

A normal person upon hearing about ABA evolving from child abuse done to disabled kids, to child abuse done on queer kids, won't act confused and frustrated when the conversation turns to: children's rights and bodily autonomy.

They won't shut down and go uncommunicative about the shift in subject.

Here's an example:

ABA therapy was first done to autistic children, pioneered by Ole Ivar Lovaas. He was a nazi.

In 1974 he pivoted to creating the Feminine Boy Project, applying these torture techniques to develop conversion therapy for queer children.

Usually you can see the exact point the chud's mind shuts off and they decide they do not want to think about it anymore, decide that this inexplicable tangent is simply not worth their time.

"Why are they asking who I voted for? What does this have to do at all with anything?"

A normal person won't get *offended* by the conversation's new direction, the revelation that what they thought was X is actually a part of Y, etc. They won't shut down and go uncommunicative about it as this continues.

Motivated incuriosity.

A normal person, upon hearing that X and Y are connected, or may *even be the same thing*, doesn't react like this.

They don't act incredibly confused, frustrated, and evasive about what they're trying to say. They are *curious* about it.

"What does ___ have to do with ____?" and it's like, The Sermon on the Mount and poverty.

They'll act confused, and then they'll act frustrated that you keep bringing up something irrelevant, and then they try to disengage from the conversation's inexplicable turn to such a strange topic.

There's a conversational thing maga chuds do that I call motivated incuriosity.

They will say thing X, which to normal people is something very, extremely, cartoonishly, obviously connected to thing Y.

And then act incredibly confused frustrated when you bring up thing Y.
