Just cracked my bottle. Not a fan of the first pour. Too starchy. Yes, SB profile is there, in orange, oily, bit of dirt, some floral notes, md peat, but it tastes incomplete. I'd have 20cl as an 'this is how it tastes before it gets to 10 yo), but 70cl too much. Will see if I change my mind
First bottle of the 100 proof I’ve had. I was a little worried it might be a bit too jaggy compared to their older releases, but it’s great even without dillution. It is youthful and spirity, but the pure Springbank spirit is tremendous. Should never have doubted it.

Sampling another of TWB's Apollo series & my first Glencadam! (Thanks @whiskytip.bsky.social for the tip off) There's apple, pine needles & lemon drizzle cake on both nose & palate; menthol too although a drop of water tempers this & the 62% ABV. Serge got peat strangely; I did not shorturl.at/UR0QG
I reckon 2-3 hours max is enough - as it's not that big. You can have a meal after a tour - needs booking. The shop does have special releases & usually one self pour. It's a nice distillery, but not close to much, so you need a designated driver, or to take samples away. It sits off the A11.

Just keep my eye out. I spend a lot less time than I used to, but still pay attention, and if a deal is really good, or a bottle exceptional - post about it.
