Also, Trump's withdrawal now would be a fatal blow to his party in the midterms, and his continued participation would also be a fatal blow to his party in the midterms, but of a different kind π
Even if Trump were to withdraw from the war now, Iran would not cease striking all US interests in the Middle East until the last US military base is closed, and until all the petrodollar kingdoms collapse⦠Trump has embroiled the US in a massive and inescapable humiliation.
But he knows why he started it: to escape the Epstein files and the midterms.
Some minor aurora glow on the main webcam right now. If you are above the 45th parallel, and you have a camera, try taking a long exposure to see what you can see!

Regardless of this unsurprising folly from the American National Circus, I am deeply impressed by the complete transformation Ukraine has undergone... This country was trapped in corruption, tyranny, and vulnerability, and now it has achieved what superpowers couldn't! πππΊπ¦
Of course, I don't need to talk about fast breeder reactors, which literally produce more fuel than they consume⦠If the world had invested in developing and building those reactors, it would have been completely freed from the yoke of fossil fuels and their mafias.
Average life-cycle CO2 equivalent emissions (grams of CO2 equivalent per kWh) (source: IPCC) Coal 820 Biomass - co-firing 740 Natural gas 490 Biomass 230 Solar PV - utility 48 Solar PV - roof 41 Geothermal 38 Solar - concentrated 27 Hydro 24 Nuclear 12 Wind offshore 12 Wind onshore 11
As for carbon emissions, which of course are of no concern to gas worshippers, nuclear power has very, very low carbon emissions, to the point that it is almost equivalent to wind power π
Statista 2026 Mortality rate from accidents and air pollution per unit of electricity worldwide, by energy source (in deaths per terawatt-hour) Brown coal 32.72 Coal 24.62 Oil 18.43 Biomass 4.63 Natural gas 2.82 Hydro 1.3 Wind 0.04 Nuclear 0.03 Solar 0.02 Nuclear power is competing with solar and wind power for the title of safest energy source.
Nuclear energy is demonized because of the Chernobyl and Fukushima disasters, which are huge but RARE disasters⦠and the fossil fuel lobbies that lead those demonization campaigns deliberately ignore that the victims of their fuels are far, far more numerous.
Not only Europe, but the whole world made a mistake when it did not seriously try to develop and expand its nuclear energy sectors, and continued to chase oil and gas, until it became polluted and enslaved by the worst people in it.
Exactlyβ¦ and I would like to add that the βlaziness of the whole worldβ regarding the nuclear energy sector from the Cold War until now has been a strategic mistake that is literally self-betrayalβ¦ because of it, the world is currently humiliating itself for the sake of oil and gas.

Incidentally, the point of "freeing countries from the blackmail of those fossil fuel mafias" is the reason why a large number of countries around the world are currently building huge solar power plants... and the irony is that some fossil fuel producing countries are also building them.
This is one of the citiesβs famous hofjes. These are enclosed spaces with essential garden type area that were originally set up by wealthy people to house widows and other unmarried women we have I think 20 or so. In the picture you can see buildings in front and to the left with the first part of the garden, a lamp, post a sculpture and a bike in the foreground.
Good morning from Haarlem.

The global fossil fuel mafias hate renewables (and nuclear power too) not because some individuals can install solar panels on their roofs, but because it will free most of the world's countries from being blackmailed by those mafias themselves.
I understand your point, and I know many people (especially in low-population areas) who buy solar panels⦠but unfortunately, "most" people cannot afford to buy them, due to bone-crushing poverty, or because they live in rented flats and (de facto) cannot install anything on the roof.
And after all that, the Americans and the Russians both come to talk about the "world order" and blah blah blah⦠while both of them are the biggest destroyers of this order, and they still live in previous eras when "empires" used to attack others.
Exactly⦠Ukraine gave up its nukes, and Iran hesitated to make nukes, and the result is that the 2 countries are subjected to the most heinous aggressions of the current decade, at the hands of the 2 largest nuclear powers in the world.
In this world, any non-nuclear state is a DEFENSELESS state ππ

Kirk died months ago, but people like him who promoted (and fully believed) the same lie mentioned at the end of that post are still alive, and their numbers are estimated at tens of millions around the worldβ¦ Where are they all now? They're all silent and out of sight π

In many cases, I feel that naive people don't exist, and that all the "naive" people I encounter are actually clever people disguised as naive, with the aim of deceiving their competitors who don't pretend to be naive π πΊ
