Oh my god
Oh my god
I know people are going to be mad at The Woke Ginger for secretly being paid by a dark money group to repeat their attack lines verbatim. But the man is a dynamo. The charisma is off the charts here. I can't stop listening to his monotonous, unblinking recitation into the camera.
wait are these the actual paid protesters
4 years might be optimistic. As there's no way his 5th year option gets picked up, he could be unemployed 2 years from now. Even cutting him next year frees up $3 mil and a roster spot.
I remember thinking "unmitigated disaster" when around halftime of the MNF season opener JJ was something like 2/7 and the completions were screens. The 4th quarter player of the week performance papered over that he wasn't trusted to make any throws and still missed the layups. He's unsalvageable.

Start listening to podcasts without famous people in them, I promise you they're better!! I don't even have a podcast, you can take this as unbiased advice!!
Yeah, I don't think it's the buyer's remorse/cold feet aspect. I can believe it's them trying for both at the same time and taking advantage of the rules, but new medical info may have still been a real deciding factor.
With the issue some are making of medical information is shared ahead of a trade agreement and nothing should have been new at the physical, and not knowing the details of how exactly the surgery goes, was wondering if maybe he had some trimmed in the repair, and the amount trimmed is the concern.
That maybe the issue isn't that he's not ready for the start of the season, but that it's too likely he won't be able to finish a season, or have a big drop off in the near future.
I've been wanting to see some reporting on the specifics of meniscus surgery. I know it can involve trimming away damaged tissue, which I think can lead to it being degenerative. And then would Crosby have had a post op MRI, or was the physical the first time since surgery anyone saw his meniscus?
I'd like to see what a doctor has to say about meniscus surgeries and what might have been new information at the physical that the Raiders couldn't have shared. Would Crosby have had a post op MRI, or was it just the surgeon's word until the physical? Odds of it being a degenerative issue?
"I was in love with the frisson of transgression" is a really dressed up way to say "got a thrill by being an asshole."
And they got him

Not that they'd do two 1s for one player again, but move a first for another player, or both for two.
Agreed on the priority for the lines though.
That she'll be spending Thanksgiving with her new boyfriend's family?
Just wondering if the failed Crosby trade broke the seal on their willingness to move a first (or may have also made them turtle up even more), and how confident they feel in getting an immediate difference maker in the draft given it's supposed to be a down year.
Think there are any other trades with those firsts in the works?
And yeah the whole franchise should be in win now mode. If in ~4 years when the absence of those picks will be more noticeable, if they're still not getting it done do you blow it all up?
He'll show them by beating up on teams that aren't them?
All that needs to be said
I know meniscus surgery can be just trimming away damaged portions, so your knee has less cushion. I wonder if there are concerns for it being degenerative. Aside from being ready for this season, it may mean it's less likely he can finish a season, or puts future years in greater doubt.
I'm reminded of Michael Schur's own spin on the Trolley Problem, thanks to this review of his book. (Spoiler, his conclusions are terrible because his entire way of thinking about morals and ethics is more focused on feeling like a good person than on taking actions that lead to good outcomes.)
Yeah when trading for a guy you know even before talking to still has another month or two of recovery it seems like you've already accepted that risk. I don't know how the timeline works. Trade was announced Friday, maybe physical wasn't until Monday, and Tuesday was discussion/decision?
When trading for a guy still not recovered from an injury, you always have the failed physical out. A legit concern though could be it's a degenerative knee issue where he could be ready to start the season but it wears down faster and his future years are more in question or can't finish a season.
They're NFL players, you can always find an injury to fail a physical, it's about how you think those injuries will affect the player and if you're willing to take the risk. Even if he's ready for this season, a legit concern could be it's a degenerative issue so maybe next year is more in question.
I think this story is a really good example for people to look at when it comes to understanding bias at NYT. It's not that the reporter, Dana Rubinstein, says anything outright false. But the framing, word choices, etc., add up to an unprofessional and biased account.
Ben Cleveland is under contract for the Chargers. Looks like they snagged him as depth ahead of the playoffs, and have signed him to a reserve/future contract.

[bookended by two prolonged periods of complete silence] i’m just sayin’
Pointless listening to him anymore. Nothing to glean from it. He’s just the collective, sadistic id of every born-rich boomer, animated by naked selfishness and vile racism, flailing backwards at the sight of Death’s scythe, trying to hide inside the TV, melting into the warm fake histories within
