You can tell playing The Divine Force that the writers have no idea where to take this series with the timeline being set in stone with Star Ocean 3 as the absolute end of it. Retcon that mess. Please. PLEASE.

Compared to that "Hey, guys, we're using a shitty conductor for our magical lightning gun, can you go fight the dragons left behind by the dragon riders in the copper mine to get us a better conductor" actually makes sense. I am Star Ocean 3 is one of my least favorite games if you can't tell.

That's not even one of Star Ocean 3's *bad* plot points.

Sophia's identical alien twin that's never mentioned again once she dies of tuberculosis because Fayt ran her across an entire country to see her dying friend. Who she then collapses dead on top of as he dies.

Very true! He's probably still kicking himself for stealing Dick Grayson's girlfriend and still having to work with Barbara in their mutual old age after all of that, among many other personal flaws that he's too stubborn to work on or not beat himself up over while acting stoic about it.

Terry McGinnis being (for the setting) a lower middle class punk trying to live up to Batman is so damn compelling to me.

BTAS is next level on making Batman a kind, empathetic person with real flaws tormented by his trauma.

I really ,really miss Batman The Animated Series where it was basically The Text that if his Rogues Gallery (other than The Joker) would, as one of his most oft spoken lines states..

"Let me help you!"

They would have a better ending.

I am a Terry McGinnis stan, and genuinely surprised he's not kicking around my brain like a few other DC characters are on a constant basis, rent free.

Batman Beyond, textually, starts with Batman admitting that he did more harm than good while passing the torch down to someone not seated in the ivory tower of wealth (Terry McGinnis)

Yeah this is *very true* of Good Batman. Part of Batman Beyond I really really like is him being too old to punch people good so he relies entirely on his detective skills and connections to help Terry.

But yeah I recommend Batman Beyond.

ACAB includes Batman.

He has the kind of generational wealth where he'd do a lot more good funding public programs and like. Giving people money and resources then spending billions to punch people better.

ACAB includes Bruce Wayne/Batman and that's what Batman Beyond is about.

It's unfortunate that the history of the Civil Rights movement has been rewritten as "We marched peacefully until our enemies grew a conscience".

MLK and SNCC accomplished a major shift in policy using a deliberate, low-grade insurgency carried out with incredible skill and decades-long strategy.

I finished watching that 11 hour MarzGurl video on Vicken McNugget. I have no "Vic Stories" but I have a hell of a lot of Risembool Ranger stories. None of them positive. All of them involve trying to bully younger kids into joining while barely-adults (like me!) had to interfere.

Pan Pride, motherfucker! My sister got to dress full femme at Trans Pride Seattle 2024, so trans pride, too!

There's a reason my character's prosthetics in Skeith's art are pan-flag themed. And plasma cannons. They can try to pry my pride from my broken body, but I'll remake it and strike back.
