Oh no Karl. Iβm so sorry for your loss!

Oh man, 1994 you were still dealing with THAC0. My students thought critical threat and confirming the crit were old school.
Congrats!
FL Studio Web tutorial cannot be completed because the audio portion wants me to add a loop that I donβt have access to as a free member. Pretty big oversight.
Getting added to the FL Studio Web beta test in the middle of an in-office workday is cruel.

Since Iβve done it as a guest lecture twice already, integrating music technology into the 6-12 instrumental/choral music curriculum.
Probably also the benefits of demonstrating musical concepts through Max/MSP, but thatβs V.J. Manzoβs niche and I donβt want to step on toes.
Emo Con will be much bigger next year I am certainβ¦ If only because Iβm forwarding it to every elder millennial academic I know.
This is the greatest and I will do everything in my power to at least do the virtual attendance.
Everyone said they knew you at this academic conference
All the other cars around me in this faculty parking lot *also* have multiple university parking badges. #adjunct
Popular music education folks of Bluesky - which lightweight DAW are you using with your kiddos?
Bandlab? GarageBand? Soundtrap? Tracktion?
I know my opinions, but want some more input for my Music Tech class. Let me know!

As a teacher who went through this in my district, there *were* opportunities and experiences our students had after school consolidation that did not exist before. There were also school culture changes that became an immediate issues. That was with only 2 schools closing. 27 is a lot!
Move 2.0 may have gotten less attention, but this is big: Audio Tracks for live audio processing and some warping, too. That's in addition to Link Audio, Erosion, and Pitch Shifter. Move owners can try this beta just by connecting to a computer.

Every time I log into Instagram after a bit and see 30+ reels in my messages I remember why I stopped using it.
The threes were falling like never before. It was magical.
Iβve been cooking more and have been trying to use the Instant Pot we were given. Some of these recipes are crazy. SautΓ© things in the pot, remove them, sautΓ© something else, put in a trivet, put a pan on top with ingredients.
People, the range is right there. I see it in your recipe photos.
It wasnβt until grad school that I got to engage with learning on commercial music, music tech, music philosophy, and world music. I enjoy all of these things much, much more than spending months on a marimba piece which is required because I also play drum set.
All you people doing the fun five classes in college thing but as a music performance major it was basically five years of just playing music solo, playing music together, talking about music, and listening to music. I often think about how much time was invested in something I do so little now.
Thatβs fantastic. I had a moment of panic that the 90 minutes of screen capture video I did would have to be re-filmed. Lol
As someone who must teach a unit on MainStage in a couple of weeks, are there any significant UI tweaks or anything you saw that would cause a need to change instructional materials/assignments?
Itβs not hip or new, but βlβHorloge imaginaireβ by Jon Nelson was the first piece I heard that really sold me on electroacoustic music.
Unfortunately, this is confirmed news.
Not remotely what you want to see. Wishing everyone at NI the best in a tough time, and hoping that in the restructuring process, the tools find a good home. Details:
Hey yβall, a friendly reminder that the local restaurants around you are going lose a lot of money in wasted product and lost weekend revenue when the storm hits. If you have time and money, consider picking up something from them for dinner before the snow. I promise they will be grateful.
This is the coolest thing I have seen in years!
Another super underrated record from Underoath. People are really sleeping on their newer work but it is better than their old stuff by a mile. #vinyl #music
Record collection shelf with a turntable on top playing a record. The sleeve for AFIβs Silver Bleeds the Black Sun is next to the turntable.
My top record from 2025. I know who they are emulating in all of these tracks, but they do it well and I still like the songs. Itβs way better than the cover art would have you believe.
Hey you! Yes, you! π«΅
You're into this whole "making music" thing? You're a solo artist or you're in a band? Then this is for you!
It's not much and will not launch you into super-stardom, but here are three simple things you can do to get your music heard; all of it for free, no obligations!

Iβm hoping for another nuclear third quarter.
