Just binged all seasons of Nirvanna the Band the Show (along with the movie) in a 24hr time span. Very cozy, clever, and endearing, but now I'm left with a Canada-sized void that needs more funny boys to fill it.

Me when I try to recall the name of a survival horror game about dinosaurs in a crisis.

In the past 10 years, I've worked on feature films, won "best in show" at a film festival, edited for PBS, produced for cooking shows, but ultimately I'm left with very little to show for it.
Hoping that 2026 is the year I start feeling confident enough to share my venture into stop-motion shorts.
Marty Supreme fucks. I got slapped around like a ping-pong ball.
TRUE. Finished the base game tonight and didn't expect it to be nearly on the level of engagement as something like Sekiro. Kind of wish the sequence of areas wasn't so linear, but the polish in all other aspects has me hooked at the moment.
BIG friend
I finally crossed Master and Commander off my watchlist.
There's an alternate universe where Jack Sparrow was never a household name and we got an entire franchise based on the seafaring and somewhat queer adventures of Captain Aubrey and Stephen Maturin.
A poster for the film "Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass" (2024)
Can't fathom how I didn't notice a new Quay Brothers film was out in the world. Miniature worlds of dust and decay fleshed out via dream logic. Inspirational mix of live-action and stop motion.
There Are Monsters (2013)
POV you have decided to shoot a found footage horror film in a small town.
Fully expected to have a fun time at most, going into There Are Monsters, but now I'm left reminiscing about making home movies with childhood friends.

Accidentally stumbled upon an insane double feature about girlbossing too hard.
"Looking for Mr. Goodbar" (1977) and "To Die For" (1995).
Group Iβm a part of hasnβt been able to get together and watch movies in a while.
If youβre a film freak, invite me to your movie night!
How Iβm trying to be tbh

Remember this intense scene from the highly-acclaimed film? Most people donβt know that this was REAL and the actor was ACTUALLY scared and NOT acting. The cameras turned on and he suddenly forgot that he was on a set and how to do his job. This fun fact makes the scene much more impressive now!
The new Katamari seems great so far, but it seems to lack a bit of BOUNCE??? Feels like it's easier to get stuck in places, instead of ricocheting out of tight spots when colliding with objects.
big rolling ball still makes me smile tho
Genuinely grateful for this time of year when the occasional lizard will enter my apartment to stay warm. Just dumb little cuties who don't know where they are. π¦
I hope they can at least sense a modicum of benevolence when I escort them outside.
If you haven't seen it, this Halloween I recommend watching Phantom of the Paradise. Very campy with an emotional core (in the same vein as Rocky Horror), while providing commentary on greed and exploitation in the entertainment industry.
I wouldn't think twice if you told me Hackers (1995) inspired both Deus Ex and Jet Set Radio.
OHH MY GODDDD!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!! THIS IS TOO SCARY!!!!!

Though could also be Mewtwo.
This channel was great for helping me do a deep dive on shmups. Those games are so tight and fast-paced that it was really no trouble at all to play whenever I had 30 minutes to do a quick run. Very satisfying to learn patterns and see a tangible improvement in your performance.
On tonightβs episode of βLizard From an Old Screenshot (Who Is He?)β
Nothing screams mainstream stagnation in the entertainment industry like seeing the same IPs being advertised for a lifetime. I remember being visually assaulted by the Phantom Menace marketing wave as a kid, and now it's 2025 and I'm still seeing a Star War on my soda can. Pls let it die, thanks!
The first 15 minutes of Weapons were great, but then the guy next to us dramatically spilled their food everywhere at the exact moment that someone crashed their vehicle into a nearby power line outside, causing the theater to lose power for the remainder of the day. Potentially cursed film.
