Total abortion bans may have reduced rents by 4 percent (?!?!?!?!?). That shows huge demand for living in states that protect womenβs lives. California should expand housing production as a matter of civil rights because living here means you simply have more rights - something people really want!
The theory of the tendency of the rate of profit to fall gets a bad rap but come on, replacing your human users' content with bot spam because the former don't post enough? That's the good stuff baby.
My neighborhood fb page is basically moltbook rn so I understand the synergy
the last few times iran has accepted a ceasefire, the US and israel have taken the opportunity to restock their weapons and then surprise attack iran again. "there's zero point in engaging in diplomacy with us any more" is what that strategy teaches
As MAGA refuses to learn again and again: the real world has a force all its own, gravity exerts a pull regardless of whether you believe in it. There's no way to win a war unless you understand the terrain.
Obviously we work less now because of the combine harvester and it's nice that most people aren't spending most of their lives harvesting food and chopping wood. Obviously AI does something besides spicy autocomplete. You really do need to know where the money you need will come from, etc.
There's a thing in the Anglo- American left where you lean so far into "the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles" that it comes back around to a pure solipsism that needs no history besides good class, bad class. But the whole problem is that classes are made!
This is your health insurance money btw
Twisters (2024) was fun. The A villain is climate changed and people keep dying because they think it's a false alarm. The B villain is a landgrab REIT. Glen Powell is entirely believable as a rodeo cowboy turned climatologist turned YouTube celebrity scientist.
You ever write something and there are so many parts you hope people engage with that you can't figure out which ones to quote?
I'll do a wee thread on the 3rd, and final, essay from my Red Scares series

Tommy Robinson is writing for Jerusalem Post, and that makes some people uncomfortable - opinion When journalism abandons the debate over ideas and focuses instead on policing who is permitted to speak, the search for truth quietly gives way to the enforcement of acceptable opinion. Tommy Robinson wears a UTK logo ("Unite The Kingdom") on his clothes as he is seen at a rally in solidarity with protesters in Iran on January 11, 2026 in London, England.
ByTOMMY ROBINSON MARCH 8, 2026 18:30
Robinson had previously tried to address βthe Jewish Questionβ in a 2022 article which he deleted shortly afterwards. He divided the Jews into two types β acceptable ones and disreputable ones. He particularly had it in for the Anti-Defamation League β in his eyes a cesspit of Jewish liberalism and subversion internationally.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
They're platforming an ACTUAL NAZI NOW
I'm laughing to keep from screaming
It was a bad week or two afterwards but they'll make you use the medicine forever before permitting it anyway
This plus Flonase did a lot for me but eventually I gave in and corrected the deviated septum and now I'm a new man
Labor law remains an important field of struggle and we're here in part because it sucked but for anyone organizing rn you largely figure the nlrb is dead at best
Halt you need a bridge pass to enter hightown type senator
Mf hasn't finished loading, half of him is inside the barracks
And they call us NPCs! These are things your little video game soldier says after you finish dressing him.
"spanish bioshock but with catholic statues and your gun shoots your own blood"
Hopefully by the end of the year the stink of the Liu-style PMC criticism will have worn off because it's a genuinely useful category of analysis amidst a generalized crisis of social reproduction in a rich economy dominated by services.
"Either I shortchange my students to have enough time and energy left for my family, or I shortchange my family to give my students what they deserve. Either choice makes my heart ache."

Does Iran know the war could be over soon
"I must be right if people keep telling me I'm wrong!" At least Stancil got in the car and did the thing.
I fell for it like a dang fool too
For the same $6 trillion cost, you could crush child poverty with a child allowance and free childcare, fix unemployment insurance, do paid family, sick & medical leave, massively boost ACA subsidies, and eliminate child uninsurance with Medicare for Kids.
I'm an art professor I made an art
It's pretty easy to change your reply settings. I do it! Throwing down the block because someone said "cutting taxes for poor folks is good if we raise taxes on rich folks, because otherwise we'll cut stuff like healthcare for poor folks" is a choice.
If lower taxes eases your burden then obviously it's good. This is not "relief" because it's just cutting revenue. So then you gotta cut expenditures somewhere and the default will be to cut it from the low end (EBT, Medicare etc). It's not relief if you save $500 but lose your healthcare.
