I mean, I like Hellraiser just fine, but I’ll happily watch From Beyond every other week 😆
tacos
mmm, tacos
☝️
Yup
Whereas, like, One Piece to pick a giant obvious example, I assume he has background assistants but everything always feels fully integrated.
(I used to love colorforms when I was a kid)
Like … when the feet aren’t quite on the ground? 😆
There’s a series I’m really enjoying that occasionally irks me this way. Trying to remember, was it Frieren? I may be wrong.
Mask
Absolutely. But I’m always taken out a little bit when it’s not done well and I can tell the figures are just clipped in front of the background art because they’re floating and the style is different. It’s a bit color forms if you know what I mean.
Like Adachi in Cross Game is clearly using reference for architecture, but it all feels part of the same world
Manimal
Where is Manimal?
Using for reference I think is great, no probs, it’s when it looks like a redrawn photo not in the artist’s style that I’m not keen on it.

where is Acapulco H.E.A.T.?
where is Korgoth of Barbaria
It’s a commentary on their poor social skills instead of an expression of anger
I’ve started doing a thumbs down instead of the finger when driving also, I think it annoys people more
Right. Yeah, so often I’ll look at a manga background and it’s so obviously a photo that’s been mangafied. Not a big fan, honestly.
Of course she is, who else would do that? 😆
Yeah, it took me a while to get to it
I like to just give people a sad look and a “thumbs down”
Though wasn’t swipe file more about ripping off other artists’ work than tracing photos? The latter bothers me less morally, seems more lazy than reprehensible. Though both are artistically bankrupt.
Dude, I’ve seen this in the theater TWICE
I never had the strength of character to tackle the sequel
Awesome. Making me want to revisit that second Skyline film, what a treat it is.
You know him. You love him. Now you can find out what his 3 favorite movie fights of all time are. It’s THE Liam O’Donnell on the Action Desk! www.rsclfilms.com/news/3-fight...
Wrapped in the only way it possibly could have
That’s like people who are like “I have to be myself at work”. No, you fucking don’t, you need to be the best version of yourself, if you are an asshole, tamp that shit down.
