My colleagues found this yesterday following a settlement about AI, scraping and authorship, and some of us are eligible. We are wondering if it is for real/what the consequences of claiming might be. Any ideas anyone?

Oh well. I applied for promotion to professor and the internal panel (scientist after scientist after scientist after medic) decided that it wasn’t even worth sending it out to review as I don’t meet the criteria. Apparently. I’m looking forward to the feedback on this one.

Well…. this has been happening across the sector for a while. We just avoided CR for the second time but lost hundreds of staff again across the institution. But Cardiff University is the biggest employer in Wales and I agree it is big news for this reason especially.

First draft for me. It’s much too long, it’s really scrappy in parts, but I have finally written it all out. Now to get it into publisher first draft shape before Easter so it can go out to review. Sabbatical here we go…..
