Is autonomic aging simply a story of progressive decline? 📉 We find a more complex picture: while age-related group patterns are evident, longitudinal individual trajectories vary a lot. Next step: is the locus coeruleus linked to these differences? 🔵🧠

Nick (@willenjoy.bsky.social) is obsessed with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). And for good reason! It could explain many results. Our simulation toolbox meegsim enables setting up SNR of individual sources as well as SNR of all signal sources with respect to all noise sources.

As an early-career researcher, it was possible for me to attend thanks to the Gertrud Jungblut Award! It's so special to be able to attend a meeting that gives time to improve science and propel innovation in the right direction!

The workshop highlighted how essential education is for breaking down shame, ignorance, and misinformation about women's health. Sharing science responsibly, listening, and incorporating people's real-life experiences in research, and having open discussions with the public all matter a lot.

Women's health is not just reproductive health! One of many Taboos we discussed at the "My Body, My Brain, My Choices" workshop created by @cogneuroend.bsky.social and hosted by @volkswagenstiftung.de.

Was super fun to write this little piece with @el-rei.bsky.social @martager.bsky.social @michaelgaebler.com Generally, its cool to write for kids and be REVIEWED by kids! Awesome reviews like "this is boring" or "this doesn't make sense" - real, honest and super helpful! Loved it, highly recommend.

Could the diversity of findings in heartbeat-evoked response (HER) research be due to variability in methods?

In our new preprint my co-first authors, Maria Azanova and @willenjoy.bsky.social, and me systematically reviewed 132 M/EEG HER studies and found:

Trust in scientists and their role in society across 68 countries - Nature Human Behaviour What is the state of trust in scientists around the world? To answer this question, the authors surveyed 71,922 respondents in 68 countries and found that trust in scientists is moderately high.
