MBTA secures $80.3 million from feds for Blue Hill Avenue project - Dorchester Reporter
A federal funding bill that ended last yearβs US government shutdown also unlocked funding for a long-awaited Blue Hill Avenue improvement project that will include center-running bus lanes.
Anyone who says this project is "a classic example of policy being made w/out community input" is flat out lying. The level of community engagement since 2009 (you read that right) has been massive & comprehensive in scale. Bus riders deserve this #mapoli project.

If you think the reason to not provide free unlinked bus trips in most US cities is that it costs too much, you might take a moment to understand: how much does it cost to collect, how much fare leakage already happens on bus, how much is the true lost revenue from unlinked trips.

When Massachusetts passed a "millionaires tax" in 2023, conservatives claimed the rich would flee.
But two years later, they haven't β and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.
A reminder that positive change can still happen at the state level.

Packed house in Dorchester celebrating Latoya Gayleβs campaign kickoff.
Tremendous commitment in the room, much of it from residents whoβve known Latoya for decades, and have looked forward to this moment, including the wonderful Shirley Jackson.
This is going to be one powerful campaign. π₯β€οΈπ―

New White Stadium combines history, sports, and community - The Boston Globe
The long-term value and benefits for our students, communities, and future generations far outweigh the initial upfront cost.
Boston must move past the politics of disinvestment & grievance; our future lies in an expansive vision that invests in our residents & disrupts status quo lethargy. Whether Blue Hill Ave or White Stadium, @wutrain.bsky.socialβs optimism & vision are spot-on. www.bostonglobe.com/2026/03/07/o...

Iβve had people laugh saying 'A better Massachusetts is possible' sounds underwhelming.
But do you actually believe it? That fixing the T, solving the housing crisis, making childcare affordable is around the corner?
Or is believing that we can have a government that delivers genuinely radical.

Governing is fundamentally different than campaigning. This should surprise no one. Governing requires thoughtful consideration of the many factors that go into making reform & change happen. Governing requires a talented & loyal team. Public criticism of oneβs agency heads is counterproductive.

I can say w/confidence that the only outrage ought to be if BHA bus rapid transit doesnβt happen. I can see how others would take the disconnected events you mention and weave them into a narrative - but these naysayers have no plan of their own other than disinvestment & grievance.

Livesayβs only had his byline attached to three stories since November 2025
One of the first decisions Bari Weiss made was laying off veteran Africa correspondent Debora Patta to save Rome-based Chris Livesay.
Thereβs a war in Europe (Ukraine), and a conflagration in the Middle East (US/Israel v. Iran) threatening to consume the entire region. Letβs check his output.
