tweet that reads: ...and catch yourself.

19,000ft. There's time. Best investigate first.

"Let's go, Trelawny" you say, and head to the cargo hold. The door is indeed down and there's some kind of hook lodged in it.

The hook is attached to a rope. Dangling on the end is... a person.

They wave.

two voting options are:

Pull them in
Wave back

65% have voted for wave back.

You wave back. The wind claws at you and the person dangling out there, but that's no reason not to be polite.

They look up at you. Gripping the rope 'tween their thighs they do a reeling motion with their hands. It makes them slip down the line.

"18,000ft" Says Rutger/Trelawny

Do the locomotion too!

Bracing yourself against the bulkhead you pull... her... up.

Her hair is sensibly tied. Her eyes do not sparkle. Her legs go up to her hips like normal and her breasts are not visible. It's very unlike the books you read.

She throat-punches you.

"That's for waving, arsehole!"

options are:

gakkk
hngffff

gakkk has won with 60% of the vote

*gakkk* you splutter, as your vision blurs. If it wasn't for the howling wind you'd probably pass out.

"15,000ft" Intones Rutger/Trelawny, looking at you curiously.

"Sorry," the mysterious stranger says. "But you deserved that."

You manage to gasp out a question:

"Who are you?!"

"Pelaphine von StΓΆrtebeker," she replies, as she removes her gloves.

You realise that she's wearing some kind of uniform, although it's seen better days. Unlike the knife-pistols on her belt which look lethally well maintained.

The only thing I legit miss about being on Twitter is being able to run poll-your-own-adventures.

Someone reminded me about my sky-pirates one earlier. Some samples from it. So much fun to write.

Still my favourite character introduction I've ever written.

Stag, in Druidry is one of the 'Three Oldest Animals in this World'. The other two being Blackbird and Salmon

They represent Earth, Air and Water respectively. Often, Bear represents the Fire element

A black and white photograph shows an achingly high stone spire of a church is reflected in the slow flowing water of a nearby river. The fluid mirror, capturing clouds, trees and the feral plant life of the bank, feels less like an echo and more like another world.

Most Hooklanders know the phrase 'to be tulled' - meaning to be caught between two worlds and at home in neither of them. It's usually used for people, I'm certainly one of the tulled folk, but it can also used for certain places. – Jeff Loden #VOH

I don’t think a lot of people on the right understand that a lot of people on the left regularly hear people on the left spout opinions we too think are ridiculous, annoying and buzz-killing too, only we don’t then decide it’s worth destroying democracy because Tara thinks bin bags are classist

Friday the 13th: Fear, Foklore, andΒ Liminality Friday the 13th often stirs superstitions, but for Druids, it can offer a moment to reflect on liminality, folklore, and the stories we choose to carry. Thirteen isn’t unlucky: it’s part of nature’s rhythm.

Friday the 13th isn’t as cursed as we think. For Druids, it can reflect liminality, old myths, and nature’s rhythms. A quick reflection on superstition, fear, and the stories we carry. /|\

Whose Druidry Is ItΒ Anyway? Modern Druidry is often called Welsh - but that’s only part of the story. This piece explores how both English antiquarians and Welsh revivalists helped create the living tradition we walk today, drawing on shared Brythonic roots beneath modern identities.

Modern Druidry isn’t just Welsh - it’s a much more tangled, beautiful story. My new Deep Dive explores how English revivalists & Welsh poets together shaped today’s path. /|\

The thing I want most from social media is smart people with a different frame of reference – often due to race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, country of origin, class, academic training - to tell me what the world looks like to them right now. Bluesky does this. /3

A Reply: I Knew the Pre-InternetΒ Age A reply to Isabel Brooks Guaridan piece. The internet didn’t ruin everything - but social media changed how we value culture, connection, and even ourselves. As someone who lived through the last years before the algorithm, here’s what I remember, and what we’ve lost.

I did know the pre-internet age - and what I miss isn’t the tech, it’s the time before everything had to be seen to matter. A reply to this Guiardian pece

The Power of β€œIsh” n a world that demands certainty, the quiet suffix β€œ-ish” offers room to breathe. This essay explores the spiritual, linguistic, and personal power of liminality - how β€œish” can hold identity, belief, and becoming with gentle strength.

What does it mean to be Druid-ish, queer-ish, healed-ish?
In a world obsessed with certainty, -ish gives us room to move.
A reflection on language, identity, and the quiet strength of liminality.

It’s β€˜International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia’, or as I call it, β€˜Being A Decent Human Being Day’.

Observe it by questioning media, who call the right of LGBTQ ppl to exist β€˜a debate’. Persecution, violence, rape & murder are not a debate, they’re crimes. #IDAHOBIT
