If you don’t think Kamala Harris would have been better for every one of us you are delusional. Nuts.

Covering sessions daily at the Commission on the Status of Women this week, one question keeps coming up for me: How can responsible media better amplify the institutions trying to address global crises? Too often we are not meeting the moment — we are being entertained by it. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus & @DrTed...• 6h Global military expenditure just hit $2.7 trillion - in a single year. According to @UN estimates, ending world hunger by 2030 would require $93 billion annually. That means we spend almost 30 times more every year on killing each other than on making sure everyone eats.
This is Director of WHO. And that’s exactly the point I’m trying to make all day every day this week.
Oh the sunshine

A blue line shows an upward trajectory in BPS grad rate over the past twenty years. Header text reads "BPS's Graduation Rate Just Hit a Twenty-Year High!" with a subtitle "Boston Public Schools is addressing absenteeism and investing in college and career pathways."
New data confirms that Boston Public Schools achieved its highest graduation rate on record!
Anyone who says this project is "a classic example of policy being made w/out community input" is flat out lying. The level of community engagement since 2009 (you read that right) has been massive & comprehensive in scale. Bus riders deserve this #mapoli project.

Pie chart showing that nearly 2 million people are incarcerated in the U.S.
🚨NEW: Last year, the number of people incarcerated in the U.S. increased again. The driving factor? President Trump’s deportation agenda.
Our annual report, The Whole Pie, gives the big picture of mass incarceration. Here are some key takeaways 🧵

A Noem aide spent $3 million on pickup trucks emblazoned with the ICE name & logo, which ICE agents -- notoriously averse to advertising their presence -- will not drive, so they're just sitting in a lot, useless. The contract went to a Trump donor who owns a regional Chevy dealership.
While the surge of federal agents in the Twin Cities grabbed much of the attention the past few months, stories of children hiding at home, crying in class and being detained have quietly gripped some Minnesota small towns since January.
After a day partly spent reading of DHS workers doing 'show your papers' stops, seeking to intimidate protestors, and betting on detainee suicides, I can't understand the point of calling to "reform" these institutions.
Tear them down. Start from scratch. They're way too rotten to be of any good.
To underscore his point:
Stephen Colbert had Talarico on the night before early voting started.
Lawrence O’Donnell had him on the night before Election Day. (He said he invited Jasmine Crockett too, but was clearly after folks complained)
They both knew what they were doing.
Thumb on scale.

On March 4, a U.S. sub torpedoed the IRIS Dena. Of 180 aboard, 87 died and 61 are missing; Sri Lanka rescued 32.
Sinking a ship that was someone's guest, that was following peacetime protocols, that couldn't fight back. Then leaving sailors to drown thousands of miles from home. That’s a war crime.

This is honestly one of the most anti-Jewish things I’ve ever seen from the United States government.
2 years from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now, and 20 years from now, Americans are going to be subject to attacks here and all over the world because of what Trump is doing right now.
So far the war in Iran has cost an estimated $5.5 billion.
That's roughly $1 billion per day.
$41,666,667 per hour.
$11,574 per second.
People do not want this.
They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.
“supermajority of voters say they would like to reduce the national debt, but cuts to Medicare and infrastructure spending are deeply unpopular,” are not contradictory.
There are many ways to cut national spending, as opposed to debt
The authority that Trump has asserted in taking America to war against Iran is, like many of his other power grabs, an expression of the very tyranny the Framers were seeking to prevent. “Kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object,” a young congressman named Abraham Lincoln wrote in 1848. This was “understood to be the most oppressive of all Kingly oppressions and they resolved to so frame the Constitution that no one man should hold the power of bringing this oppression upon us.” This quote, incidentally, is immortalized on the House’s website, if any members of Congress are looking for it.
The design of the Constitution divided warmaking authority between Congress and the executive to prevent a president to take the country to war by themselves for any petty or self-serving reason. You know, like a king would. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

We need to pass a House rule or law that requires them to work a certain number of days to get paid. Since Mike Johnson took over these people hardly ever work. When they finally come back after weeks off they work 2 days and he sends them home for 2 more weeks. It’s ridiculous.
