I really don't think it's being on the internet that makes someone bad. I think not working on bettering yourself makes you unpleasant and mean. I think you can have meaningful relationships online. I think we need to think the way we think about these things AND make the world more accessible.
I'd also just like to see a lot less "people who are unpleasant on the internet are just SO ONLINE and NEED TO GO OUTSIDE" maybe.. people are just jerks. IRL and online. My only social life is online now and I'm not that. I'm just fucking disabled lol
If someone is going to get queer bashed if they show up as their full selves in public. If someone is going to get COVID (and become futher disabled) if they show up in public. I mean-- what is it that you expect THEM to do? Maybe YOU are the one who needs to do something to make things accessible.
really tired of conversations about how we need to get people to spend more time offline that don't acknowledge that one of the reasons people ARE online is their access needs aren't being met in physical spaces. This is especially true for queer people and disabled people.
Im pretty good at being inside of them at this point, but I keep my eyes closed too... being on haldol made it much easier in the past. without that I think its a little tougher LMAO
