The first time this has happened to me, but I had three really engaged and constructive reviewers for one of the papers for my #PhD.
My faith in the peer-review system has been (momentarily) restored

Adicionalmente, yo hice este feed que busca palabras claves de temas de transporte. No es perfecto, pero es un buen punto para empezar bsky.app/profile/did:...

If I hear a single American saying "but this is not who we are", I'm going to lose it

Instant classic!

Nice! Could you add me?
I also created a feed a few months ago that parses some keywords and combinations, in case it's useful:

This is insane. What a terrible thing to go through.

Exxon Mobil CEO on the 'dirty secret' of Net Zero: 'People who are generating the emissions need to be aware ... and pay the price' "The dirty secret nobody talks about is how much all this is going to cost and who's willing to pay for it," Darren Woods said on Fortune’s Leadership Next podcast.

Please sit down before you read this post.

So.

The CEO of Exxon-Mobil just said this in an interview: "We’ve waited too long to open the aperture on the solution sets in terms of what we need, as a society, to start reducing emissions."

There's more... 🧡

Right? Protected bikelanes would absolutely solve this problem and they are so inexpensive!

8000 cases and the researcher calls this "a really significant public health problem,"

You know what's a real health problem?

"Traumatic brain injuries from motor vehicle crashes were estimated to result in 218,936 emergency department visits, 56,864 hospitalizations, and 16,402 deaths annually."

Surprisingly (at least for me) sustainability and climate change are rarely seen as an objective by cities trying to govern these services.

We uncovered a whole host of reasons: from the public interest of redressing past inequities, to circumstantial motivations such as appeasing the incumbents that have seen their businesses endangered by these new technologies.

In this paper we identified the goals that cities are trying to pursue when managing shared mobility services (like shared scooters and ride hailing).
We then analyzed why they are choosing to pursue these goals.

Decided to go with WCK as someone suggested.

we actually crunched the numbers. You can read about it here: www.wri.org/research/sta...
Electric mobility will be responsible for the bulk of climate pollutant mitigation. Shifting to non-motorized and transit is absolutely needed, but not enough.

27.12.2023 15:39 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I hate cars as much as the next guy (actually more), but this is factually inaccurate.
You are confusing air pollution with climate pollution.
E-mobility (in all its forms, bikes, cars, buses, trucks) is a necessity to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

yeah, tricky. This is why I was hoping other folks who are better informed than me would have some good suggestions.

@farhana.bsky.social any specific org you recommend we donate to support Gaza relief?
We've been donating to UNRWA, but wondering if there may be others you know of.

I hadn't used Uber or Lyft in ages and I just had to use them twice this week. They are truly shit now. Incredibly long wait times, ridiculously expensive. Are people still using ridehailing? seems like taxis are a much better option these days.

Yeah! Totally agree with the user-based feed! Learning as I go, so any additional pointers are definitely welcome :)

so, I finally had some time to get back to this. It had been in the back of my mind for a while:
bsky.app/profile/did:...
Used all your suggestions and complemented with hashtags and keywords.
Not perfect (quite broad, so some irrelevant posts), but I'll keep working on it.

New work. A little counter PSA to a certain Canadian victim blaming one that's making the rounds. #TwoWayStreet

Easier using what metric?
The $7500 federal subsidy per EV would go a loooong way in paying for bike lanes everywhere and improved transit. No need to completely redesign cities. Arguably easier to disburse money to cities to do that than to individuals through tax breaks.
