I went to high school with that kid!
I'm reading chapter 10 today and this line got me good. Mary Stewart! ๐ ๐
"One of those glittering sharp days that December sometimes throws down like bright gold among the lead of winter's coinage."
I hate them both and I'm rooting for Claudia ๐
FWIW, the kids in my son's troop just recently completed the Citizenship in Society merit badge. It's up to troop leaders to choose to do the right thing. As in every youth group, it's the adult volunteers that make or break the experience for the kids.
Seems like the snow is melting faster just from the sound of your and Ryan's voices on the radio today! #GoRoyals

Yes and yes. Eastern Bluebirds in my yard year-round! (But Henslow's Sparrow or King Rail would be better state birds)
Our 24yo son calls us every Sunday, on his call yesterday he made a point of asking where and when to watch it!
It's subtle, but Dak, the main character in Steal the Stars, describes herself as a "hearty gal" who struggles with hating her body. She's also a middle-aged woman who gets to have a steamy romance! One of my favorite audio drama characters ever.
Pretty sweet yard birds! Thank you for posting this

I spent the first week of the year in New Zealand! In 2022 it was Senegal. Only other time I've managed triple digits was 2013 when I was working in San Diego
I ran to Libby as soon as I saw it appear in my podcast feed... Dropping my other books temporarily! ๐

I have really poor hearing, but I'm always proud of myself for hearing birds that Merlin misses!
One of my favorite new podcasts of 2025! Highly recommended for anyone who grew up on Sesame Street
People are rightly focused on the nuts, but also, Mike apparently eats living brownies??
Sunrise and moonset in the Mojave Desert. Pink and pale blue sky, distant mountains, a full moon hanging just above the horizon, and scattered creosote and rabbitbrush in the foreground
