The problem with trolls, and I have engaged in that behavior (even though I thought righteously), is that moderators won’t stop them. A great troll is an expert at adapting to the letter of the law.

Your replies here about the harassment on Twitter feed it there. Any acknowledgment anywhere feeds it. If it's a policy problem and individual action is fruitless, then you already understand that posts like this are only harming you.

As a guy who spent years trolling people and also was the villain of the day on Twitter once or twice, there is only one way to deal with this. Block and ignore. Any response, ANY response, is oxygen. If they don't know if you've read it, if they didn't get your attention, it ends eventually.

In the old days, newsstands would have magazines and articles and you might see an article tease on the cover and you'd buy that magazine for $4 and take it with you. You didn't have to buy a subscription or give your name and number to the publisher.
