Have you already heard the Kiwanuka self titled album? Because that was great

Actually it's 97 I think. The first week we did not do it on the weekend. I think we started on the second weekend but it might've been the third actually, in which case 99.
Unfortunately it is on the list, so we will get it eventually.
I mistook Gorillaz number of albums with blur I think
Huh there is, count me corrected. I thought there was only the 1993 album
There's actually a fair bit of britpop I do like, it's just either absent from the list or hasn't shown up yet. I'm sad there's only one blur album
Surprised you did like it so much you gave it a 4 stars (And then took one away for a reggae track). But I'm glad you found it okay!
Katie hates Reggae so much she rates down albums that have it only for one song. The people are asking: What does Katie Tightpussy have against Jamaica?
Get your dice ready, because Esoteric Ebb awaits you on 3 March.
Brush up on your spell casting & we'll see you then! โจ
What a max dose of Prozac does to a motherfucker
Unfortunately Madness does brownface on the cover of one of their albums so I think the chance of Katie coming around to them is next to none (I really liked Madness as a kid but even I am gonna have to knock them down for that)
I only remembered after you posted because it was mentioned here!!
Says Miss "posts 3 hours before a deadline with 48 hours to prepare"!!!!
Well I don't like either of the two mixes on here, and I am predisposed to hate Iggy on political grounds, so take my opinion hear with a grain of salt. It's 'ight. I can definitely hear its influentialness but do I rate the album on influence or enjoyment? Because if so it gets knocked down a little. The lyrics are kind of inane when you can make them out, Iggys singing can actually work really well on some tracks though which balances it out. Honestly I think the crux of the problem for me is its not a consistent album, largely due to the production. I really enjoyed some songs: Gimme Danger, I need somebody and maybe Raw Power. On the other hand Search and Destroy sounds washed out to me in both versions, Death Trip feels the same but its even worse and I just generally don't like penetration as a song. Edit: Did give it a light 4, but I forgot about the Sexual abuse against minors that have come to light and whilst I try to let albums speak for themselves, that gives it just enough ick for me to knock it down on principle.
Editors note!
I forgot about this along with the political stuff. I try to focus on the content of the album itself but that's probably enough to tip it to a Retroactive -1
There is a deep lack of Urge Overkill or Neil Diamond on this list tbh.
"I hate the wall of sound" katie about a genre that would've not had existed without it (you're right though).
I guess its subjective, depends on how close you think the link is. I definitely know some people who would call Britpop a revival of the british invasion music despite the huge time period between the two and the tenuous nature of that link.
Sure but madchester is definitely a huge point of inspiration for Britpop. The blend of 60s and Dance clearly informed Oasis especially and Pulp were a response to the alienation they felt coming from that scene (like in mis-shapes). Its not the exact same, but it is a proto-form of britpop.
I live close to Manchester and I gave her the pass to call any Madchester albums "britpop". I'd say sorry, but well...
I think a few more Blur albums could be on the list then there are, but otherwise I basically agree with you about Pulp.
As a spoiler, If it helps, there's gonna be at least one positive review for that album!
Okay but what about "I can see clearly now"
im not mad im not mad im not mad
(Bonus track) 20 minutes of warm up featuring guitar noodle solo 1, 2, and 3
Every 20 years the album doubles in length, I'm waiting for the 10 hour version in 10 years from now
I really like Old Man, Alabama and heart of gold and they were a good enough trio of songs that it won me over and made me get it a lot more. That said I have a feeling looking at his other stuff that may not translate to the rest of his albums
Katie only plays dead competitive shooters, sorry.
It's no problem! I'm less active on here so I asked Katie to be the one to post my reviews, also so we have them both in one place.
I'm ana! Also it's based upon a book 1001 albums to listen to before you die. Then a person made it into a website that randomizes an album each day, which we are using.
