Dear sweet husband is consistently perplexed by professional sports. He has it stuck in his mind that players should exclusively play for their local teams, so the fact that the USA has players who spend most of their time with Canadian NHL teams, and vice versa, is truly confounding to him.

But major kudos to Czechia today for making Canada look mortal, and so much respect to Switzerland for the game they're playing against Finland. Really impressive work from both of them.

Yeah, I get that ranking, though I'd probably switch Czechia and Slovakia (they're having a great tournament), but I don't disagree

Definitely, I mean, it wasn't that long ago the Czechia and Slovakia were regular spoilers. Russia was always in the mix. And we have absolutely seen the development of players in Germany, Switzerland, even Denmark. Its making this tournament even enjoyable to watch.

What is going on with Mens hockey? Canada had to get to overtime to beat Czechia? Switzerland is up 2-0 on Finland? Are the teams not involved in the 4 Nations tournament playing with a chip on their shoulder? Love the competition that we're seeing.

WHAT A PASS.

It continues to be amazing to watch the US women’s hockey team play, a play always available for a free puck, incredible passing options, and relentless offense with stifling defense. They so easily make up for little mistakes. They just wear other teams down.

USA vs. SWI, US isn't playing as clean as they were in the first two games (yet) but SWI is putting in a fantastic effort. Even if US and CAN still dominate women's hockey, I'm really enjoying watching a few other countries make them earn every win.

Bad Bunny is very hot AND very cute - not something men can do easily these days. Its an accomplishment all on its own.

I have been obsessed with this USA curling mixed doubles team. What a shot in that 8th end against Sweden to clear three rocks, damn.

Watching womens ice hockey USA vs. FIN and you can defintiely see where Finland is probably closest to USA & CAN. Great pressure, great speed, some smart puck decisions...and still USA is up 3-0. Their speed is that much more, their passing, and awareness of their teammates, truly outstanding.

Some Democrat is going to propose a truth and reconciliation commission but it’s gotta be truth and consequences. There’s no way to find out what happened, get transparency, and move on. So not that anyone is asking me, but I think HR needs to include some of Role Model (book 5) as they focus on book 6. Its timeline is concurrent with book 6, and plot tensions (particularly for Ilya) are aligned. I’m not sure they can do a one episode insert like they did for Scott and Kip either.

This need to punish others is sickeningly anti-social. Accountability is not the same this as punishment. Accountability is good for community.

There is a deep need to establish a sense that every human deserves dignity and respect. Simply because someone breaks an established law (there's a whole other part of this about how certain rules and regulations de-humanize people) does not mean that they are not entitled to humanity.

To everyone who was confused about why Scott and Kip got an episode in Shane and Ilya’s story - that’s why. It changes everything for them.

HR episode 5 was incredible. Hit on so many major plot points effectively. I’m almost nervous for S2 considering how far Tierneys work blew past expectations.

You know what y'all sound like? "I don't think that person should get a heart transplant - if god gave them this heart and that's what they're supposed to have. They just need to live with that." It's mind-numbing how little honest introspection people do.

Stop it. Stop believing the rumors about trans people that come from outside of the trans community. Stop believing that other peoples medical decisions are your concern. Stop talking, listen to actual trans people - many of them - and defer to their expertise on their own lives.

It may happen occasionally (we're talking single digits for the entire US each year), but those are highly specific situations that come with a lot of discussion and preparation.

The concern over this is so wildly blown out of proportion. And its none of y'all's business in the first place!

If a trans person wants to any variety of medical interventions regarding gender affirmation, that is a decision between them and their doctors - not lawmakers.

Additionally, among trans supportive care providers, surgical interventions are NOT the standard of care for those under 18.

It is okay to critique a piece of queer art by just saying "I don't enjoy it, it doesn't reflect my experience" without categorically saying something is good/bad, authentic/inauthentic. And to remember that we don't nee to see perfect representations of ourselves in art for it to be authentic.
