In a weird way this was massively ahead of it's time with a game style that later appeared in the Wario and Bishi Bashi games. So it looks strangely modern. Banging 128k Speccy AY soundtrack too!

For the curious, here’s the (particularly crunchy) image I took rough inspiration from for the colour scheme. You can see by this point they’d already changed their icon to something simpler.
Wonder if this scheme inspired the later Astral Claw redesign? They’re pretty similar.

Also, Melnibonéans turned up as Primitive Infantry (blown off table in one turn of fire by Red Scorpions Space Marines despite occupying a bunker). #oldhammer #xenosrampant
Ended predictably with the two aspects of the Eternal Champion beating the Marines. #xenosrampant allowed for them to be modelled quite closely to the Moorcock books.
Going to have it out with Elric and Corum next turn.

It was a long time ago. I was introduced to him when I started (but didn't recognise his name until many years later as he was only ever reffered to as "Trubbers" and I probably never knew his full name at the time). Probably never spoke after that. It was back in 1997 so a million years ago really.
Random factoid - The first two months of my full-time career overlapped with that of MUD creator Roy Trubshaw's last two months at the same software house employer in Shropshire. IIRC he was contracting there.
This came up for auction recently. I assume the original for this sold for around $11K?
