Yeah, I can imagine. That last bit of action in the lake (pond?) is one of my favorite things in the movie.

Hey, you feel what you feel about the movie, but I would suggest watching it again on a different screen. I'm pretty sensitive to action being too dark and I had no issue with Sinners action throughout.
Now, it does move pretty fast once the dynamite is lit, but I think that's by design.

I'll check it out. My pain isn't so much in my heel as along the arch side of my foot, but it couldn't hurt to try.

My Mom: Your brother just had to have this painful and involved surgery for this incredibly rare foot condition he has. I can't remember the name of it.
Me (via Text): Tim, what's your foot thing called?
Tim (via Text): What foot thing?
That is worrying.

I'm made of bones of the branches, the boughs and the brow beating light
While my feet are the trunks and my head is the canopy high
And my fingers extend to the leaves and the eave
And the bright, brightest shine,
IT'S MY SHINE

Transphobia is a cancer of the heart and mind.

It is a useless fear, based on ignorance and cruelty.

Trans people are not responsible for a single one of the problems we face.

Do the world a favor and grow the fuck up.

No, of course I'm not listening to The Crystal Method's Vegas album in 2026. Why would you even say that? Hold on, I just have to...

All one hundred percent real. I went to a live WWF show with my family as a kid and was one of the kids pressed up against the railing trying to high five guys. Because his gimmick was "snotty Quebecois" he spit at the crowd, hitting young me directly.
Then years later died in a Montreal mob hit.

That's right @thebestdavid.bsky.social it's...
DINO BRAVO!
(RIP Dino, who after retiring joined the Quebecois mob and was later found shot multiple times in his house, a still unsolved murder!)

Writing my bio for a wrestling comic pitch:
"Jeremy Whitley is an award-winning writer from Durham, North Carolina and at the age of eight was spit on by a professional wrestler. It’s okay, he was a heel (and turned out to be in the Canadian mafia, but I don’t think that’s related)."

I am very tempted by this, but I just revealed to everybody that I'm not human and I don't think I can top that at the moment.

Are you...no-prizing "Ironic"?

10.03.2026 02:57 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Sorry, I fell out of this conspiracy into a completely different conspiracy. Suffice to say, turns out I'm not human. Whoops.

Not really an X-Man, a Denisovan man.
Sort of a...oh no...D-Man.

Forget that, write an academic paper about it. Get that shit published in a scholarly journal.

Then they decided to walk across that ol' land bridge and somehow I ended up in the humid ass south, a place I'm genetically pre-disposed to be bad at.
"Why are you so sweaty, Jeremy?"
"Because I'm supposed to be in the fucking Himalayas chillin with this dude!"
I mean, can't you picture it though?

Apparently somewhere down the line of my genes, my ancestors were hanging out in the Tibetan Plateau hunting shit at 2AM and not really minding the cold because we got bigger lungs and hearts to deal with that shit.

10.03.2026 02:45 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

There is a scientific explanation for the fact that my mind works better at 2AM and it goes back to PRE-HISTORY apparently. Two weeks before I turn 42 is a great time to find that out.

10.03.2026 02:41 πŸ‘ 5 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Oh shit, apparently, scientific studies suggest that Denisovans have different circadian rhythms than humans. You wanna guess when they like to be up, writing to meet their deadlines? It's not the early morning, buckaroos!

10.03.2026 02:40 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Also common in Denisovans is extra thick skulls (your boy's got an exceptionally large head) and extra muscle in the chest, shoulders, and back.
All these years shoes and hats never fit me right, it's because I'm simply not (all) homo sapien.
I am, quite literally, built different.

10.03.2026 02:38 πŸ‘ 4 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME!
I had my wisdom teeth removed a few years back and, to my dentist's horror, they were very hard to get out because they had EXTRA ROOTS.
Apparently this is probably a trait passed on from people partially descended from Denisovans (homo longi).

10.03.2026 02:38 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Apparently only 3-8% of people have this muscle and many of them never even realize it. It causes high arches so you put extra weight on the outside of your foot, which is why you end up hurting your ankle, which is why they even end up looking at your foot.

10.03.2026 02:38 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

It has been one of those things I can't really show a doctor because every time i go in, it doesn't feel swollen and they just shrug at me and tell me to come in when it's bothering me.
How about my brother injured his ankle at work and the doctor said it's because he has an extra muscle in his foot

10.03.2026 02:38 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

How about this: ever since I went to SDCC and walked around A LOT a few years back, I've been complaining that sometimes when I walk around a lot it feels like there's a muscle or bone on the arch side of my foot that shouldn't be there and gets painful.

I love the completely logical conspiracy theory that Drake got his entire career ended because Tory Lanez is an idiot.

I wonder if this doesn't also stretch back to the fall of Nicki and even all the hurt feelings that came from every random dude out of Megan's lawsuit? Like, this feeling that you can't just do whatever without consequences from INSIDE the community.
