Yes sadly a lot of goldies were bred when they were a fashionable pet. Then abandoned to the streets which was horrific for them, they had no survival skills at all. Same with labs. This is our Jonny, dumped because he had a weight problem! Now in the best home a dog could hope for

Very clever girl indeed β€οΈ Our mascot is a blind Turkish born dog now living in Canada (Gus) He lost his eyes to infection. I'm always in awe of how they find their way around so easily.
Sadly at the moment adoption is banned in private shelters & restricted in public shelters but possible with mayoral permission We prefer to keep Turkish dogs in Turkey if we can. People from other countries ask from time to time but I do worry about adding dogs to countries already with problems
