I’ve always loved the quirkiness of Giffen’s work. I’m still ploughing through the remaining videos, and hoping you mention his brief work on Hex. Regardless, you clued me into loads of his other stuff I need to get my hands on.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

Wow! Never knew this existed! Ever though it only ran a year, might it be worth a collection?

Now I’m curious about finding more Japanese stop motion work out there.

Absolutely.
In my mind, talking a backseat or turning a blind eye to this issue is not an option. Jumping passively on the AI bandwagon is definitely not the way to go, but moralizing it away isn’t helpful either. Right now there’s a chance to at least try to shape the trajectory.

Personally I look forward to following this thread as part of an ongoing conversation about art, artists, technology and the various methods that emerge as a result.
I don’t care for the out-of-the-box uses of AI to generate art, but I’m curious as to how artists can find other way’s to utilize it.
